Abstract
1,111,205. Automatic circuit-breakers. ELLENBERGER & POENSGEN G.m.b.H. 1 June, 1966 [2 June, 1965], No. 24483/66. Heading H1N. A pushbutton-operated overload circuit breaker, which has a thermal and/or electromagnetic release as well as a trip-free release and a manual release, comprises a bridging contact 8 movable to its closed position by a carrier member (57, 58), (Figs. 2, 3, 6, not shown) on a control rod (62) which is rigidly connected with the pushbutton 63, the carrier member (57) and bridge 8 being out of engagement with one another in the closed position of the bridge 8, and the bridge 8 being mounted on a pivotable and displaceable control lever 45 the pivot pin 44 of which is locked, in the closed position of the bridge 8, by a locking pawl 32 which, in its locking position, bears against a release lever 26 actuable by the thermal and/or electromagnetic release, with a spring 47 acting on lever 45 to produce the contact pressure and pivoting it upon contact breaking into a position in which a stop portion 56, 56<SP>1</SP>, thereon is engageable by the carrier member (57, 58) for reclosing. The breaker is similar to that of Specification 828,754. Carrier member (57, 58), is pivotally mounted on control rod (62) for movement by the pivot pin 44 against a spring (61) to act upon an arm 24 of the release lever 26 when pushbutton 63 is pulled outwardly. Arm 24 forms the armature for the electromagnetic release. A bi-metal 16 acts on an adjusting screw 28 in an extension 27 of the release lever 26 to provide the thermal release.
