Abstract

1341764 Razors GILLETTE CO 19 April 1971 [8 April 1970] 25613/71 Heading B4B A razor head 2 comprises a pivoted cap member 6 provided with a catch 8 adapted to cooperate with a hook device 10 which is actuated by an actuator 26 under the influence of a spring 20. The hook device is provided with a pivot pin 16 engageable in slots 18, the spring 20 being engaged with the pin. A cam surface 22 is formed on the hook device so that as the cap is closed, the catch rides on the cam surface thereby causing the hook 14 to snap into engagement with the catch. A detent (40) Fig. 5 (not shown) may be provided in order to cause a more rapid closure. In a modification, a toggle lever 50 may be pivotally connected to the hook device and actuated by the actuator 26. In the embodiment shown in Fig. 7, a guard member 66 which can be raised or lowered to adjust the coarseness of the cut by means of a threaded nut 60.
