Abstract

1,220,390. Break spinning. DAIWA BOSEKI K.K. 30 May, 1968 [5 June, 1967; 9 Aug., 1967], No. 25946/68. Heading DID. A yarn 12 is prepared by feeding two ends of fibrous material s 1 , s 2 to a rotary spinning chamber 1, breaking one end s, and causing the fibres to pass to a collecting surface 4 of the chamber and simultaneously feeding the other end s 2 to a zone 14 where twist is inserted in the loose fibres and the end s 2 , the fibres thus being combined to form a single yarn. As shown both constituent strands may be of staple fibres or the strand passing through the tube 9 may be a multifilament strand, see Figs. 4 not shown, so that a core yarn is formed. If the surface speed ratio of rollers 2 to rollers 3 is in the range 1:0.85- 0.96 a normal yarn is obtained; if it is less than 1:0.84 strand s 2 wraps about strand s 1 .
