Abstract
1,260,091. Two-part couplings. INTERNATIONAL STANDARD ELECTRIC CORP. 11 Feb., 1970 [14 Feb., 1969], No. 6631/70. Heading H2E. A contact retention clip of beryllium copper alloy moulded in an insulating body comprises an inner tubular member 24, provided with a plurality of inwardly-directed tangs 34 struck out of the wall of the member, a lip 26 and a longitudinal slot 32, surrounded by a sleeve 36 which covers the struck-out areas of the member 24, and abuts the lip 26 at one end and is flush at the other end with the member 24. The clip is retained in the body by shoulders 20, 23, and itself retains a contact pin 42 in the body by the snap fitting of collar 48 behind the tangs 34. The body clip assembly is formed by positioning the clips over a core pin in a mould and injecting an epoxy resin. The sleeve expands and protects the inner member from pressures formed during the moulding process.
