Abstract

955,432. Two-part couplings. M. L. AVIATION CO. Ltd. July 18, 1962 [July 31, 1961], No. 27717/61. Heading In an electrical connector, the connections between the contacts of a plug or socket outlet -and a plurality of conductors are embedded in a mass of rigid insulating material which, together with the base of the outlet, is then embedded in a further mass of flexible insulating material. As shown, a plug 2, comprising sheath 3 in which is fixed hard rubber body 4 in which contacts 5 are embedded, has wires 1, surrounded by sheath 10, soldered to the ends of its contacts. A hard block 8 of epoxy resin is then moulded round the connections and a second block 9 of flexible insulating material is then cold-moulded round the base of the plug and the block 8, and over the end of sheath 10.
