Abstract

1,244,611. Heat exchanger tube supports. ATOMIC POWER CONSTRUCTIONS Ltd. 2 Dec., 1968 [1 Dec., 1967], No. 54900/67. Heading F4S. In a heat exchanger of the type comprising a plurality of coaxial helically wound tubes such as 31, 32, each helical tube is supported, and held in spaced relationship by vertical elongated support strips 35, 36, the tubes being secured to the support strips by attachment clips such as 33, 34. Adjacent support strips are interconnected through the attachment clips, which are, as shown in Fig. 7, each provided at one end with a central boss 15 for welding engagement in one of the holes (7, Fig. 3) formed in the adjacent strip. The other end is slotted at 12 to be slidably received by the other adjacent strip. Integrally, or otherwise formed (Figs. 10-15, not shown), curved tube grips 10 contact adjacent turns of the helical tube. Several circumferentially spaced support strips are disposed between adjacent tubes. The support strips are suspended at their uppermost end from radial beams (3, Figs. 1, 2, not shown).
