1,126,240. Tubular heat exchangers. HARZER ACHSENWERKE K.G. SCHWEMANN & ALTHOFF. 28 Nov., 1966 [20 Dec., 1965], No. 53120/66. Heading F4S. A heat exchanger comprises a spirally wound tube 2 for a first heat exchange medium and a spirally wound strip 5 whose coils lie between those of the tube 2 so that when both spirals are arranged in a cylindrical housing 11, 12 or 11, 13 a flow path for the second heat exchange medium is formed around the tubes 2. The tube is spaced from the strip 5 and from the casing by angularly spaced, spherical spacers 15 and is free to expand and contract. Several spirals of tube 2 may be provided and may be connected in parallel or series.
