Abstract

1,119,374. Floor cleaning machines. HOOVER Ltd. 20 Dec., 1965 [28 Dec., 1964], No. 53839/65. Heading A4F. In a floor polishing machine the driving motor 16 is connected via reduction gearing to vertical brush shafts 27, 28 (Fig. 6, not shown) and drives a suction fan 22, and the motor 16 and the reduction gearing are mounted above, and the fan 22 below, a support 9 for the main parts of the machine. A motor cooling fan 20A is provided above the reduction gearing. The suction nozzle 7, which is secured to a flexible hose 15, is supported on the housing 10 by resilient spring strips 69, 70 (Fig. 2, not shown) and may be held in an inoperative position by a latch 58, 59.
