Extractor hood

The innovation relates to an extractor hood according to the preamble of claim 1. The extractor hood according to the innovation can be used as a recirculation or exhaust air hood.

Conventional extractor hoods are usually designed in such a way that they have a lower hood surface that lies horizontally in a plane parallel to the surface of the cooker below. In order to keep the distance between the hood suction surface and the cooker below, and thus the suction power, as low as possible, the hood is generally hung as low as possible, so that it is often unavoidable that the person working at the cooker hits their head against the front edge of the extractor hood. If, on the other hand, the extractor hood is installed high enough to definitely prevent such a collision, the lower edge of the extractor hood must be installed far enough above the cooker that the lower edge of the hood is higher than the height of the user. However, this requires a much higher fan power to suck in the exhaust air from the cooker.

The aim of the innovation is to create an extraction surface facing the stove which eliminates the problems described above and ensures that the person working at the stove does not come into contact with the extractor screen, while at the same time ensuring that the fumes rising from the stove are properly extracted.

According to the innovation, this is achieved with the features of the characterizing part of claim 1. Further embodiments of the innovation are the subject of the subclaims.

is, wherein the curvature is convex, so that the hood or hood surface forms a partially cylindrical wall which is convexly shaped.

The curved screen is connected to the air duct at the lower part and is held by the lower section of the duct boundary walls and/or attached to the room wall. At the upper end, facing the ceiling, the screen is self-supporting and protrudes into the room. On its underside, the extractor screen has fields with removable cover plates for the replaceable filter elements, e.g. in the form of 3x3 cassette elements that form the entire underside of the screen, represent a cassette surface and can be removed individually in order to be able to change the filter elements. At the front upper end of the screen, in the area of the two side boundaries, flange or rod-shaped brackets are provided that hold a cross rail or cross bar on which lighting devices are rotatably attached.

These lighting devices are preferably arranged so that they can rotate around the axis of the crossbar or crossbar, so that the light beam emitted by these lighting devices can be directed at different places on the stove or the like. Switches are provided to switch these lighting devices on and off, which either switch all the lighting elements at once or individually. The various operating processes of the extractor hood are preferably carried out using switching elements that are attached to the brackets of the crossbar, e.g. as pushbutton switches on the front surface of the brackets, or on one of the sides of the shade housing.

In the air duct, an extractor fan with drive is assigned to the screen; the extractor fan is connected to the top of the screen in such a way that the rising and extracted air-vapor mixture is effectively sucked in the negative pressure area of the screen housing and discharged in exhaust air or optionally in recirculation mode. Since the exhaust air duct is connected to the screen housing in the rear and lower area of the screen, and the screen housing is separated from the exhaust air duct and

If necessary, it is additionally absorbed and supported by the room wall, the extraction effect is most effective in the lower two-thirds area of the extraction surface, namely in the area where the distance to the steam generation surface on the stove is the smallest.

The plate filters arranged in the extractor housing within the negative pressure chamber of the screen housing are covered at the bottom by cassette elements. The individual cassettes have handles and snap into the corresponding frame elements when inserted, so that the individual filter elements can be easily replaced.

The innovative extractor hood ensures that the space above the stove surface perfectly absorbs the rising mixture of fumes and air thanks to the curved or arched screen, and the convex curvature of the underside of the screen creates enough space so that the person working on the stove can move safely under the convex screen, i.e. is sure that they will not bump into the screen.

The innovation is explained below in conjunction with the drawing using examples. It shows:

The extractor hood consists of a convexly curved, hollow plate-shaped hood screen 1 and an exhaust air duct 2 that accommodates the hood screen 1 or is connected to it and is usually attached to the room wall. The screen housing 3 accommodates filter elements 4, which are covered at the bottom and front by cassette covers 5. The cassette covers 5 each have a handle 6 with which

the cover 5 is detached from the shield housing 3 when the filter elements 4 are to be removed, e.g. replaced. On the front, upper face of the shield housing 1, a holder 7, 8 is provided on both sides in the form of flanges or rods protruding from the shield housing 3, which hold a cross member 9, e.g. a round rod, which runs parallel to the front wall 10 of the shield housing and which holds lighting devices 11 which can be rotated about the axis of the cross member 9 and are thus adjustable. The two holders 7, 8 hold switches 12 with which the operation of the hood is controlled. These switches can, for example, be designed as pushbutton switches on the face of the holders 7, 8. However, corresponding switches can also be arranged optionally on one of the side walls of the shield housing 1.

The transition from the screen housing 3 to the exhaust air duct 2 is shown at 13 and is designed such that the negative pressure chamber 14 of the screen housing 1 is directly connected to the fan 15 in the exhaust air duct 2 through a connecting opening. The rear wall 16 of the exhaust air duct 2 is attached to the room wall 17, and the rear, lower end wall 18 and/or the connection between the cover wall 19 and the corresponding lower boundary of the exhaust air duct 2 are attached to each other and, if necessary, to the room wall 17. The kitchen stove 20 is shown in dashed lines, as is the rising air/vapor mixture 21.

While in the embodiment according to Figures 1 - 3 the extractor hood is shown as an exhaust air hood, the extractor hood according to Figures 4 - 6 is shown as a recirculation hood, the sloping cover side 22 of the exhaust air duct 2 is closed off, for example, with a perforated plate 22, which allows the cleaned exhaust air to re-enter the room. Accordingly, the top of the exhaust air hood is closed and the exhaust air duct 2 is led out through the room wall.

Claims (8)

1. Extractor hood with a hood screen, an air extraction duct, an extraction fan arranged in the extraction duct and associated with the hood screen, an arrangement of filter cassettes on the intake side of the hood screen and a lighting device arranged on the hood screen, characterized in that the hood screen is designed as a convexly curved hollow plate attached to the lower end associated with the room wall and projecting forwards and upwards into the room. 2. Extractor hood according to claim 1, characterized in that the hood screen is attached to the room wall in a cantilever manner. 3. Extractor hood according to claim 1, characterized in that the hood screen is attached to the underside of the extraction duct. 4. Extractor hood according to one of claims 1-3, characterized in that the suction channel has the suction fan in the lower region and opens into the suction chamber of the canopy. 5. Extractor hood according to one of claims 1-4, characterized in that the curved underside of the hood screen has cassette filters which are arranged in rows and columns and which are closed with removable, air-permeable cassette covers. 6. Extractor hood according to one of claims 1-5, characterized in that the hood screen has holders on the narrow front side for a rod running parallel to the front surface, on which rotating elements having lighting means are arranged. 7. Extractor hood according to claim 6, characterized in that the holders are rod-shaped or cylindrical and have switches for operating the hood on the free front surface. 8. Extractor hood according to claim 1, characterized in that the upper end surface of the extraction duct is an inclined surface which has perforations or air passages for operation as a recirculation hood.
