Abstract

Un método para modificar la morfología en una planta, que comrpende introducir en una planta al menos un gen quimérico que comprende una secuencia promotora asociada operativamente con una secuencia de ácido nucleico, donde la secuencia promotora es util para dirigir la expresion en células específicas de la planta, y la secuencia de ácido nucleico codifica al emnos un producto genético capaz de alterar el metabolismo o provocar la muerte de las células específicas y/o las células cinrcundantes. En particular, la secuencia promotora es util para dirigir la exprsion en retonos laterales o brotes laterales, y el ácido codifica al menos un producto genético capaz de alterar el metabolismo o provocar la muerte del retono lateral o el brote lateral o las célula circundantes. Preferiblemente, la secuencia promotora comprende la secuencia indicada en SEQ ID N.1 o SEQ ID N.7 o SEQ ID N.4, o una parte de ésta capaz de regular la expresion de un gen, o una secuencia con al menos 60%, preferiblemente al menos 75% de homología con SEQ ID N.7, y que es capaz de regular la expresion de un gen.
