Abstract
Se describe un proceso para la producción de urea estabilizada con formaldehído, que comprende las etapas de: (a) generar un gas de síntesis que comprende hidrógeno, nitrógeno, monóxido de carbono, dióxido de carbono y vapor en una unidad generadora del gas de síntesis; (b) recuperar dióxido de carbono a partir del gas de síntesis para formar un gas de síntesis reducido en dióxido de carbono; (c) sintetizar metanol a partir del gas de síntesis reducido en dióxido de carbono en una unidad de síntesis del metanol y recuperar el metanol y un gas residual de la síntesis del metanol que se compone de nitrógeno, hidrógeno y monóxido de carbono residual; (d) someter al menos una parte del metanol recuperado a la oxidación con aire en una unidad de producción de formaldehído; (e) someter el gas residual de la síntesis del metanol a una metanación en un reactor de metanación que contiene un catalizador de metanación para formar un gas de síntesis de amoníaco; (f) sintetizar amoníaco a partir del gas de síntesis de amoníaco en una unidad de producción de amoníaco y recuperar el amoníaco; (g) hacer reaccionar una porción del amoníaco y al menos una porción del flujo de dióxido de carbono recuperado en una unidad de producción de urea para formar un flujo de urea; y (h) estabilizar la urea mediante la mezcla del flujo de urea y un estabilizador preparado mediante el uso de formaldehído recuperado a partir de la unidad de producción de formaldehído, en donde se comprime una fuente de aire y se divide en una primera y segunda porciones, la primera porción se proporciona a la unidad de producción de formaldehído para la oxidación del metanol y la segunda porción se comprime aún más y se proporciona a la unidad generadora del gas de síntesis.
