Abstract
Se describe un proceso para la producción de amoniaco que comprende los pasos de: (a) proporcionar un flujo de reacción que comprende monóxido de carbono e hidrógeno; (b) hacer pasar el flujo de reacción y vapor sobre un catalizador de desplazamiento de agua-gas en un reactor de desplazamiento catalítico para formar una mezcla de gas desplazado pobre en monóxido de carbono y rica en hidrógeno; (c) hacer pasar la mezcla de gas desplazado con un gas que contiene oxigeno sobre un catalizador de oxidación selectiva a una temperatura de entrada de = 175°C para formar un flujo de gas oxidado selectivamente en el cual al menos una porción del monóxido de carbono ha sido convertida a dióxido de carbono; (d) remover al menos una porción del dióxido de carbono del flujo de gas oxidado selectivamente en una unidad de remoción de dióxido de carbono; (e) hacer pasar el flujo pobre en dióxido de carbono sobre el catalizador de metanación en un metanador para formar un flujo de gas metanado; (f) opcionalmente ajustar la relación molar hidrógeno:nitrógeno del flujo de gas metanado para formar gas de síntesis de amoniaco; y (g) hacer pasar el gas de síntesis de amoniaco sobre un catalizador de síntesis de amoniaco en un convertidor de amoniaco para formar amoniaco.
