Abstract
Se proporciona una fibra o filamento que se forma de ingredientes, que comprende (a) al menos un polímero termoplástico formador de fibras y (b) al menos un polímero estirénico aniónico polibromado. El polímero estirénico aniónico polibromado tiene un contenido de bromo de al menos aproximadamente 50% en peso, y un peso molecular promedio en peso GPC en el intervalo de aproximadamente 5000 a aproximadamente 40,000, o un peso molecular promedio en peso GPC de al menos aproximadamente 600,000. Cuando el polímero termoplástico formador de fibras es un poliéster, el polímero estirénico aniónico polibromado está presente en una cantidad resistente de flamas o retardantes de flamas. Cuando el polímero termoplástico formador de fibras es una poliamida, el polímero estirénico aniónico polibromado es al menos aproximadamente 2% en peso de la fibra o filamento.
