I watch anime for two reasons:
to feel something . . . or to be impressed. Preferably both.

If it looks good but says nothing? I’m unmoved.
If it’s all plot and no emotional payoff? I’m annoyed.
If it does both well? I’m locked in for life.

My taste sits somewhere between high-stakes action, emotional devastation, soft romance, and “why did this just hit me like that?”

I respect range—but I reward intention.

– elite character development (non-negotiable)
– emotional payoff that actually earns it
– clean animation / strong visual direction
– power systems that make sense (or at least feel good)
– romance with tension, not just vibes
– women with agency, depth, or chaos
– found family / reluctant bonds
– stories that know when to stop

10 → changed my brain chemistry
9 → excellent, I will talk about this unprovoked
8 → very strong, highly recommend
7 → enjoyable, no real complaints
6 → you lost me somewhere
5 and below → we need to have a conversation

endings matter.
you can absolutely fumble a great show and I will adjust accordingly.

I love big worlds and bigger emotions

I respect visual beauty—but not at the expense of story
→ yes, I’m looking at you Neon Genesis Evangelion and Spirited Away (we can argue)

I enjoy action with intention, not just noise
→ Jujutsu Kaisen, Demon Slayer, Chainsaw Man

I need romance to actually romance

I appreciate soft, healing, or quietly powerful stories

I just want something fun, chaotic, or unexpectedly excellent

– unnecessary hypersexualization (you will be judged)
– strong starts with chaotic or weak endings
– pacing that disrespects my time
– storylines that forget their own premise
– “it gets good later” (why isn’t it good now?)

rotating between chaos, comfort, and “oh this might be elite”
(if it moves up the list, you’ll know why)
