Hunter x Hunter (2011)

Hunters devote themselves to accomplishing hazardous tasks, all from traversing the world's uncharted territories to locating rare items and monsters. Before becoming a Hunter, one must pass the Hunter Examination—a high-risk selection process in which most applicants end up handicapped or worse, deceased.

Ambitious participants who challenge the notorious exam carry their own reason. What drives 12-year-old Gon Freecss is finding Ging, his father and a Hunter himself. Believing that he will meet his father by becoming a Hunter, Gon takes the first step to walk the same path.

During the Hunter Examination, Gon befriends the medical student Leorio Paladiknight, the vindictive Kurapika, and ex-assassin Killua Zoldyck. While their motives vastly differ from each other, they band together for a common goal and begin to venture into a perilous world.

Such a fantastic show with one of my favorite seasons with 4, 5 and 6. The early seasons are also great. The story didn’t grab me at first but the first few episodes made me want to watch more and I greatly enjoyed it. The characters are well written with Gon in particular being a standout. I have heard about him being childish but he is a kid and they make mistakes and learn from them and I feel this show does a wonderful job of that.There are so many excellent character moments and fights that make me smile just a fantastic show highly recommend. ... The animation if great, along with the power system being good. Learning about it at first it seems simple but with more and more characters we see how it can be used different ways.

Mixed Feelings

TLDR; A fun show with a lot of potential, but held back by some serious flaws. It's a solid 6/10 for me.

The story itself is fun, the characters unique and refreshing, and if this story ever continues I'll most definitely watch it.

However, there are a lot of things left to be desired in the presentation of this anime. Its greatest downfall is its narration and pacing. There were points in the show I had to set the speed to 1.5 just to keep my attention; something keep in mind I rarely do. You have a narrator that spends half the anime practically reading you a ... bed time story, along with long moments of visuals that don't provide any information or interest to the viewer. Characters that you fall in love with, and ASSUME are main characters just fall off the planet, only to briefly appear for a few seconds 40 episodes later. It took me a lot longer to finish the anime not because of its robust length, but because I would burn out and need something more stimulating to grasp on to.

Though there were parts of this show that really gripped me, I'm looking at you Meruem and Komugi, I can't say confidently that this is worth the rating it seems to get. Maybe its nostalgic for some, or the fact that its run time makes it easier for people to grow a deep connection with the show, but I would expect more from an anime that has been frequently recommended to me for years now.

HunterxHunter is another one of those garbage overrated shonen okay yeah its does good things I liked

1Meruem and The Royal Guard: The only part that truly lived up to the huge expectations, and in my top 4 greatest anime villains of all-time (standing with Johan Liebert and griffith and light) and royal guards I thought they were very well-written

2 Nen: The hype was pretty deserved on the Nen system, it's extremely detailed, makes sense logically, and was very creative

3 killua,gon or kurapika : yeah they are written very solid as gon even though is mid can be used as tool to understand the conflict ... so yeah he is okay he needed to die by the way

4)Fights -fights are written pretty good though it doesn't have 5d chess matches are pretty standard with 'no use of strategy'not a bad thing but its not greatest shonen
Drawbacks of HxH
1 pacing - except yorknew arc which is tightly written other arcs of HxH are absolute boring and are of shit tier like greed island and rescue killua and chairman election and middle part of chimera ant are some of the worst arcs I have ever see in a minutes

2 villains- except mereum all other villains like chrollo and hisoka were cool but are absolute overrated when it comes to villains they are literal bumbs when I think about it

3 narrator - HxH fans I have brain I can understand I dont watch dragon ball super and one piss,in the last part of chimera ant there is just no stopping him he dominates the entire runtime of that arc

4 The Stake- there are absolutely very low stakes in hunter x hunter gon should have been dead kite literally got rebirth

5 use of nen - HxH tards think nen had 5-d chess matches no execution of nen is very basic and mostly HxH fights dont have any stratergy not a problem but hxh delusional fans think every match is 5 d chess

overall the most boring anime ever seen 60/148 are of shit tier that should not have been made
