Hey sixleaf, it's been a minute. I've actually been really busy with work and school, so it's been a while since I've watched anything really. I'm barely on this platform too, just wanted to see if there was anything I've been missing, glad to see a message from an old friend.

Nice to see you getting into Jojo, it's an incredible series, and I hope you've enjoyed it. If I had to rank them, it'd probably go:
4,7,2,3,5,1,6.
I got crazy respect for Araki, one of my Faves, and Jojo's probably has the best fanbase on the internet, at least of those I can think of.

And yes, although I haven't seen the anime, I did read Ashita no Joe in its entirety a while back. I had mixed feelings about it upon finishing it (because of the filler fight near the end with the random tribes man and other storytelling decisions), but it had such emotional highs and explored athlete archetypes unlike anything I've ever seen before and is one of those manga I think about a lot, even more than most of my other favourites. I mean, I remember having a genuine cry at Rikishi's death, dude, I like, never cry. Amazing.

Dang your right, i guess he did kill off all the good characters. I dont why, it just felt more natural in pluto while monster's felt pushed. Thats probably just me I guess.

And just saying, i wouldnt deprive myself of the expirence of the manga. cause I had read the Pluto manga prior to watching the anime and even though i knew what was going to happen i still loved it.

Also, rare anime recommendation if you havent seen, Rurouni kenshin. Probably the closest series to yu yu hakisho stylisticly.

Yeah, i am aware of that and I did actually read the manga but i dont have the best memories of it. It was the 1st manga i read, and i gave it a mediocre rating (probably because he killed Grimmer 😔. How you gonna do that) But i have been thinking about watching the anime as of late.
Also, you got to get on his other works like 20th century boys (probably his magnum opus, some of the best twist ive ever seen) and billy bat (which im currently reading, really crazy manga apparently lee harvey Oswald didnt kill JFK).

That's a reasonable response. I think I can say I appreciate Yyk more, but I think the Phantom Troops story with Kurapika's Vendetta and Hisoka's Quest for the perfect opponent adds a lot of ambiance to the story, boyish you could argue, but I adore it and its things like this that make the world of Hxh feel so big and I love it. when Kurapika's Emperor time is introduced is when I start to love his character, You have someone who is broken at the rudimentary level that takes it upon himself to sacrifice his well-being for his mission yet also realizes it's not worth the relationships he has already formed.
Also, Don't worry about the late responses, It's not really a social platform we're all just here to chill.

Dark tournament for sure. It was a little too long but damn that last fight hit hard.
Black Chapter was also great, Usually, I'd brush off characters like Sensui as mindlessly evil but Togashi gave him a good origin story and composed the arc really well.
Also interesting how you said you liked yyk more than hxh, Could you expand on that?
cause Hxh was perfect for me. The ending to Chimera ant arc had me sobbing like an 8 year only who scraped his knee on playground gravel man, Just Perfect. I only rate hajime no ippo and Logh ahead of it

I guess that makes sense.
I mean the Makai arc started so well and I guess I was expecting a great war between the 3 demons with Hiei, Kurama and Yusuke stealing the show, but then Yusuke proposed a tournament and I was like "Mf, here we go again". In hindsight though the tournament was pretty awesome.

Yeah, man, Togashi Is the Goat.
I'd inherit his back pains from him if it was possible just so we could witness the conclusion to Hxh and maybe a Longer story for YYK (I think the last arc had incredible potential) but it's a cruel world we live in.
