Manga: Chainsaw Man
From someone who was an apprentice to Fujimoto, this series tells the dark story of a young man who gains powers to protect the ones he loves. With great art, interesting characters, intriguing world-building, and a tragic nature, my one regret of this series is that Sundays don't come fast enough.

Manga: Sensou Kyoushitsu
Centuria and Sensou Kyoushitsu (The Bugle Call) have an art style and worldbuilding more in common with history inspired manga like vinland saga than what you would expect of a medieval fantasy setting. Similar themes of violence, life purpose and freedom.

Manga: Berserk
Centuria is basically a more decaffeinated version of berserk, but still very dark.

Manga: Clevatess: Majuu no Ou to Akago to Shikabane no Yuusha
While the circumstances and characters are different in each of these two manga, the core point is pretty much the same: both tell the story of a powerful foster parent with supernatural abilities who takes a child with a peculiar destiny under their wing. As they go on their adventure, the two of them meet various people, both friends and foes.
