Boku no Hero Academia: Final Season

The final stages of an all-out war between heroes and villains unfold as the world watches its symbols of peace and destruction collide. When All Might is critically injured, global fear takes hold as the fate of society hangs in the balance, and the threat of All For One and Tomura Shigaraki makes it clear that the conflict is far from over.

As hope begins to fade, Izuku "Deku" Midoriya stands at the forefront, refusing to let the war end in despair. Pushed beyond his limits and supported by Katsuki Bakugou and other heroes fighting beside him, Deku becomes the central force opposing collapse. The conflict becomes a defining turning point for society—one where the future will be entrusted to the victorious side.

The final season of My Hero Academia is pretty satisfying overall, but it doesn’t quite hit that “mind blowing” level. The story finally reaches its big climax, with intense battles and high stakes that keep things exciting.

Character development especially for Midoriya still feels solid. There are some emotional moments that really hit, especially when it comes to sacrifices and relationships. But yeah, some side characters kinda get sidelined, which makes things feel a bit underwhelming at times.

Animation wise, it’s still good overall and enjoyable to watch, especially during the big scenes. That said, the quality can feel a bit inconsistent here and there.

The pacing can ... also feel rushed, probably because they had to wrap up a lot of storylines. Because of that, some moments don’t hit as hard as they should.

Overall, it’s a solid and enjoyable ending, even if it’s not perfect. Still worth watching 7/10 👍

Mixed Feelings

A disappointing end to a great series.

I was a big fan of MHA as you can see from my very high ratings of early seasons, but I think the last two seasons, in particular the final one were a real let down. Almost Game of Thrones level downfall, with cringe dialogue that put me off watching the last few episodes for quite some time.

I'm not sure what happened with this anime, perhaps they left themselves with too much to do to wrap up, but even then, the final confrontation just seemed incredibly dragged out, and the plot for the final season was just one deus ... ex machina after another.

I must have rewatched* this anime dozens of times, when new series were coming out, and found myself moved by very cool scenes such as All Might Vs Nomu at the USJ, Deku Vs Shoto at the sports festival, Endeavour Vs the Nomu in town and his fight Vs the Intelligent Nomu above the city. But towards the end of the anime I can't really think of any scenes that blew me away, and I don't think I'll ever rewatch the final series.

Left with a bit of ambivalence at the lackluster end to what was such a great anime at the start, but as they say, don't be sad for an ending, be happy for the journey 😇

This animation is horrible. Either showing characters without background or close ups of faces. Close to 0 wide shots and even if there are ones it's either a rubble, sky or grass. Cheap, ugly and rushed.

Emotional disaster. It tries to be emotional 24/7 making all those emotions empty. Everything is a last stand. Last stand every 5 minutes. Makes all those scenes empty and it's not the first season they done that.

Typical to many anime powered by friendship so is the case here. Other side characters must be involved in some shape or form for some reason. Given their background story, given some redemption ... arc, their last appearance in the story before the big end.

To get more screen time. Every move, every decision must be explained by the characters otherwise it would be like 4 episodes. Oh yeah and do not forget to repeat what you said at least twice. Treating your viewer like some kind of a moron.

Sad end to a story that started so great. Maybe it will get a worthy reboot at some point with fixed story and all that, one can only hope.
