Wu Liuqi: Xuanwu Guo Pian

This show is highly underrated! Don't know why, maybe because it is Chinese or the artwork... But nevertheless the show is amazing. Never seen an anime with such a good balance of action & comedy.

Characters:
The characters are great. 13 gets finally the focus she deserves. She is the embodiment of a torn personality. On the hand she wants to obey the orders from her masters without exception, on the other hand her feelings are a hindrance for her and prevent her from doing the task. But finally she realizes it with episode 8 which was btw the peak and probably the best part of ... this season. Later on, at the ending the shift of focus from 7 to 13 was well executed. Love the twist at the end with the combined demon dagger sword she was unconsciously using.
7 is still the same funny goofy dude as always. This season he feels more reflective and deep thinking but still remains to his goofy personality. But let's be honest we all watch it because we want to see the former powerful evil 7. Scenes where his old personalities reappears, are the best and also the most hype scenes in this show.
Of course there are other characters like Dai Bo or Xiao Fei that they are more like a sidekick that's why I won't go any further on them.

Story:
The story is nothing special. But if you are already interested in 7 then I would recommend you to watch further. You get some insides about his past. But unfortunately very little, would have wish more old 7 scenes. Comedy of this season was good. Not that amazing like the first season with the panties' thief, the chief dog or the old lady, but it was okay and interesting to see 7 travel to Xuanwu while passing by some funny opponents. The opponents and especially their weapons are quite outstanding. The monks at the end was surely the best assasin ever. A Qi controlled prayer chain as a weapon which could change its form and mass. Great!

Sound:
Like season 1 & 2 scissor seven did a great job with s3 opening. It is a mixture of thrilling chinese guitar strings with a goofy touch till the end of the song. This also represents very well the personality of the main protagonist itself.

All in all, I would say, if you are a fan of comedy mixed with action, then I definitely recommend scissor seven for you. The characters are interesting and that's that also keep you from continuing watching it. Also, the story and the sound effects, op, ost are quite fitting in every situation. In conclusion, if you miss scissor seven you'll miss an action comedy gem.

What an incredible experience!!! Nowadays, it's very difficult to find good shows like this. I hope China releases more gems.

Story: Despite having a basic plot, the donghua progresses flawlessly to transform this simple plot into something very good. This is the season that has the greatest focus on the main character's story (Besides the fact that the main past story of 7 is still hidden and there are a few episodes before something related to that happens), finally it is time to deal with the past!. Now the story has an objective!

Characters: The strongest point of the donghua, the characters are interesting, well built and ... funny. We are able to easily connect with many characters, so that even in moments without the MC, we are able to acquire the feelings of each character. In this show, the author cares about them, always presenting a brief story of each one so that they become unique and attractive. A good show needs good characters to sustain the story, making the viewers stay with their eyes on the screen forever.

Sound: Maybe the most impactful soundtrack I've ever seen in an animation. The ost is amazing, (mainly the opening and the music in the end of episode 9) which mixes the correct elements referring to what scissor seven season 3 wants to show to us (the serious part and the comedy). A lot of emotions!

Art: The animation is very good (consistenly), and the art increadible, all drawn by hand.

Wu Liuqi Zhi Xuanwu Guo Pian (2021)

Wow 10 more episodes and now a movie coming and a season 4 it is rumoured also, what a show this must be...

The thing is whilst it is a good show it is also not as amazing as it comes across. If I am honest more and more it feels like when I was a kid watching Samurai Jack at breakfast in the morning is now this as an example. The show is fun to watch and easy to get into but by far not at the heights, it is given by people.

The art style is very ... crude at many times, it is trying to do an anime-style cuteness but just comes across as awfully put together at times. Other times it has good art but only good never beyond that.

The OP of this season is probably the best part of it. The rest of the sound is a good standard.

The characters are all as expected and no one really develops anymore since the story is being dragged like someone is using a plough by hand. It is definitely trying to stretch out the story but it is trying to make the characters at the same time staples of the lives of the viewers. It just doesn't work though.

Enjoyment is good don't get me wrong but the show is about as average as it can be for the most part. It is a good watch and I am glad to see it continue. I would criticise how they make the credits super long for the sake of trying to make you watch them.

6/10. Manjusaka is the best girl.

The third season of Scissor Seven once again raises the level of quality and is really great!
Compared to the first season, it's better in every way. When you watch it, you get the impression of a very well-arranged world and the story behind it. Do you remember Kimetsu no Yaiba? This show from Chinese studio is similar and very enjoyable.

Pros:
- The story plot is excellently arranged. From the beginning to the end you follow it with a pleasure. Side stories end with conclusions, without unnecessarily prolonging the plot.
- Beautiful sceneries, art.
- Developing a MC love story.
- Interesting characters and personalities.

Cons:
- sounds effects in the ... background are improved but still not at the highest level (sometimes sth are missing?)

Personally, I watched previous seasons in Japanese. I believe that for foreign viewers it's the best way to feel original atmosphere. Chinese words are hard to understand in terms of facial expressions. After a few hundred different anime titles, Japanese is as clear as native to me. This season hasn't been dubbed yet (may 2021) so I was forced to use Mandarin. Nevertheless, after a few minutes I got used to it, also thanks to the other positive sides of this anime. I warmly recommend this Cike Wu Liuqi's season.

I’ve been watching since season 1 and i can say that after watching over 150+ top rated animes this beautiful chinese anime stole my heart. Its a total masterpiece, from a beautifully written story to Its heartwarming soundtrack and very unique perfect art style. This anime made me cry multiple times because of its wonderful writting and perfectly synced soundtrack. The characters also grows into you and they become a part of you. This anime is truly a hidden gem and I really am surprised how many people doesnt even know about it. Many people may not want to watch it because of the stereotypes ... that chinese animes are always bad, but this anime really proved it wrong. I really hope to see more people watching this anime in the future and if the person reading this hasnt watched it yet. Watch it. You wont regret it. The only downside to this anime is that you’ll have a hard time finding an anime that would cause the same emotions and feelings felt while watching this anime. Really big thanks to the people working on this anime, I love you all.

A third season that, although it starts off a little weak, recovers almost halfway through the season. Look, it's not totally bad. I really liked it because it still has that type of animation that I love with its typical super creative story that I like but still So having all that, I didn't love it like the previous two, I thought the story would start suddenly but it took a while to start until episode six was when the good thing started from my perspective.
Also something I want to emphasize is the ending, it feels very abrupt (more than previous seasons) and I think ... they could have continued with the season but they wanted to leave it in intrigue so that people would be looking forward to the fourth season.
On the other hand, I want to say that everything good from previous seasons is present here without a doubt and saying it again I think is a bit redundant.
A highly recommended season that if you've seen the previous ones, you'll love it without a doubt.

Una tercera temporada que aunque empieza algo floja se va recuperando casi a la mitad de la temporada, miren no es totalmente mala, en verdad me gusto porque sigue estando ese tipo de animación que me encanta con su típica historia súper creativa que me gusta pero aún así teniendo todo eso no me encanto como las anteriores dos, pensé que la historia empezaría de golpe pero tardo en comenzar hasta él episodio seis fue cuando empezó lo bueno desde mi perspectiva.
También algo que quiero recalcar es el final, se siente muy abrupto (más que las temporadas pasadas) y creo que pudieron seguir con la temporada pero quisieron dejarlo en intriga para que las personas estuvieran deseando la cuarta temporada.
Por otra parte quiero decir que todo lo bueno de anteriores temporadas esta aquí presente sin lugar a dudas y volver a decirlo creo que es un poco redundante.
Una temporada súper recomendable que si viste las anteriores está te va a encantar sin lugar a dudas.

Honestly, I didn't have much faith in this donhua, and if I said it from an objective view, it's not enough to stand out as a series.

But I really arrived at the right time and from this I could realize the hundreds of unique and different virtues that highlight this donhua of other animes or series.

Ah say that the story has a potential to one that eh not seen in other series, the story fantasy of a chinese old next to an antithesis of a ... country super advanced technologically call my interest from the first moment, but that touch of unique skills, characters that help the plot that I fell in love with the past seasons, but eh to say, that you lack value to the writers and the direction to move forward, it feels extremely slow and, for example, as
in the last season, it took more than 7 cap 10 to reach xanwu, the main theme of this season, would also stress that the issues that it takes so indirect that you don't realize if you just focus on the comedy, but there is an evolution that you just will realize when you encariñas both with the character. A story with unique potential but that is not being carried in the best possible way (maybe because of the small number of episodes that are given for the seasons that the plot limits).

I had never touched a donhua or anything related to china, always eh seen the popular or "cult" that exist in the world of anime, where it is very rare today to find a style characteristic of or only one that I really do adore the art (it has no realism or how nice it is to see), because in my view, there is almost no expression, artistic or expermiental in the world of manga or anime, eh seen very few cases, as for example, the art of Shaman king, that really touched your point ends as art and make you see that not everything has to be realistic or detailed so that it is an art brilliant or beautiful, as you will see, I step to the art of Scissor seven, We could say that in terms of objectives, it would be a style cartunisado and more to something more family friendly, but the truth is, to me, in the case of shaman king, the art glitters the beauty of the simple thing and that there be a detailed drawing and superrealista to find your style, the characters, their costumes, the world and all that that entails, he has a beautiful affection and a charismatic style and very contrasting between comedy and the serious (the same feeling that he wants to take the story), making him have an almost perfect harmony with the plot.

Is one of the few series that eh visto experience in the industry asiatica really environment their openings in the plot of the story, things like the op 3 of the last season, is one of the few songs that put me goosebumps, because it literally makes you feel like you're in a time where it's not going to see more comedy, you're in a place ostil as it is the ancient china, it and more exciting, the use of traditional instruments in the country but the combination of rock/pop characteristic of an opening, to tell the truth, the animes or series are carried away by a song of a famous band or a quite used pop that sometimes does not make you thrill as before, that's why the soundtrack of scissor seven stands out big in that sense.

Leaving talking about the openings, I love that they do so many versions of a single song, making that instead of seeing only one song that goes with the setting, it is the same song that you already have familiar, but in other situations that gives you more emotion when listening.

The combining characters satiricos for comedy, with its own personality and make them develop from that it is a fascinating, scissor seven began as a comedy rather typical of the industry, we can say, but knew how to use those positive points of his comedy and at the time of wanting to give more sparkle to the plot, knew how to give a contrast magnificent to those days where it was just a good time, we saw a lot in season three, seven is not someone who not only is a method of comedy only because if, the to remember his past and what was, he loves that tranquility and fun that he had on that island, because there he found people who loved him and appreciated him, giving us a little nostalgia and missing those moments, I feel that many animes or series have not been able to achieve something of that caliber and I could compare it with a series like Gintama.

As a complete series, instilling the 3 seasons as one, it is a series with a huge potential to be something important or great in the Japanese, Korean or Chinese industry, which stands out for its creativity, correct handling and affection that has the animation house and the director when it comes to doing it.

[this is my first review, so, if you notice a little confusing is that I do not write very well xd]

I never really thought that I would enjoy a Chinese anime this much. The art, sound effects, story, and everything about this anime is outstanding. I thought that the first season was great, the second one was kinda okay but the third one has been a total pleasure so far. This series is so underrated that I feel pissed and I have literally started recommending this to everyone before OPM and Mob Psycho 100. This gives the same vibe but for me personally, this was much better. The MC is a typical comic character who gets beaten up almost in every fight but, he has ... a golden heart and has moments when he gets extremely powerful. The side characters are also a pleasure to watch especially the bodyguard who has a body of stone.
Overall this was a masterpiece for me and I would definitely want the producers of this anime to give us many more series like this in the future.

Scissor Seven is still a very solid series and unfortunately very undervalued, I do not know if it is because of what China is or why a famous study does not encourage it, but Netflix has made a good impression for this great series, it has an animation very solid and beautiful, at times it reminds me of the Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game.
In short, this third season has a good dose of comedy, fights and most importantly a more solid and better developed story than in previous seasons, if someone wants to see something different from the Japanese anime Scissor Seven is ... the respect, believe me it's worth it and I'm I am sure that in a few years it could become a cult anime and why it does not show us once again that China can compete solidly with Japanese anime.

INTRODUCTION

Scissor Seven is weird, and that’s a good thing. You can tell from the moment that you see the first episode, this isn’t your typical anime; granted that it is a dong hua (动画) and not an anime. The animation style with the way the characters are all written makes it not necessarily superior to other shows, but definitely unique in its own way which certainly gives it some appeal. If you’re reading this review to gauge if you should watch this dong hua or not, don’t bother; go watch it first and then finish reading this review, you’ll thank me. Also yes, I’m of ... Chinese descent but that does not mean you need to be able to understand Mandarin for this show to be enjoyable.

STORY - 10/10

The setting and story is something else, the setting is really fitting for the dong hua because of how it evolves. We go from the setting of Chicken Island in season 1 and 2 which is fitting because it suits the more calmer and laid back atmosphere of season 1 and 2. Seasons 3 then progresses to Xuan Wu Guo which again is quite reflective of the story because that’s when the main arc starts to kick in, not saying that season 1 and 2 didn’t focus on the main story, but it really helps the pacing of the show because by doing this; at the start of the third season you are completely invested into the show because the setting in conjunction with the story really tells you that the dong hula’s main arc is in effect. Digressing from that massive tangent on setting instead of the story, the story is pretty good to say the least. Specifically the way they have all the backstory of all the characters laid out, they make almost every single characters have an interesting backstory. For convenience sake, I am going to use the story surrounding the Prince of Stein as an example. He adds to the main story by being an antagonist and later a protagonist, but that’s a later discussion for the character section; what’s more interesting is how his father was supposedly killed by Seven which causes him to kind of have a vendetta against Seven, but the thing is that he doesn’t know that Seven killed his father. The story is put out like this so us as the fans are just sitting here on the edge of our seats waiting for him to find out, and see his reaction after we get to know him as a character. This is just one example of how they use a specific type of story device to reinforce the overall enjoyment of the show, you will be able to find more of these story device everywhere in this show.

ART - 10/10

This is a bit of a chooser, everything in this show is hand drawn compared to the typical style most anime and dong hua is animated in. This can either be really appealing to you or kind of annoying, but here is how this the animation and art in itself is actually used to enhance certain things within the show. The animation in a regular scene is basic, there no way around that; when the characters are moving around, they are essentially smooth coloured shapes and the art is comparable to the average anime in 1990. However if you don’t find this obnoxious, it really isn’t that bad because the trade off is quite worth it. During an action, emotional, or impactful scene; the animation studios ramps up to one hundred and actually becomes impressive. By employing a low fidelity (detail) for tame scenes and a high fidelity for crucial scenes, it puts an emphasis on the high importance scene because of the highly detailed art. It doesn’t matter if you didn’t consciously realise this dichotomy (contrast) between the scenes and their respective animation styles, but your brain will definitely subconsciously notice it. This makes you think that the action scenes are absolutely amazing, even though you might not know why, this is why; well the music is also important as well, which is a nice segment into the next section.

SOUND - 9/10

Sound within Scissor Seven is the weakest element but still amazing nevertheless. The reason this is not a ten out of ten is because Scissor Seven is lacking in the department of utilising common sound effects in certain scenes, albeit this doesn’t actually detract from the dong hua that much because most animes and dong hua fail to effectively use sound effects anyways. The real saving grace for sound within Scissor Seven is the music, but I do have to interject here because what Scissor Seven does is neither bad nor amazing. Most good modern animes can already effectively employ good music within themselves which add to certain scenes based on what mood that needs to be created. Granted Scissor Seven is a good dong hua which means it can do this with great proficiency as well; they perfectly place humoured music over comedic scenes, and also enlist an intense score for a fight scene or a soft melody for a emotional scene.

CHARACTER - 10/10

The characters in Scissor Seven is really what makes it a ten out of ten show, every character is entertaining simply due to just how well the writing team fleshed each and every one of them out. There is nothing special done here except good character development; each character has depth through a specific characterisation technique that the writing team uses, they use the destruction of ‘caricatures’ to make all of their characters have depth. Caricatures are when a character is made to fit a specific personality and set of traits, being confined only to their superficial characteristics; thus akin to stereotypes for characters. Caricatures are a massive problem with most animes, you have the main character who is a nice and touching person; the gentle yet fierce love interest; the nerd; the coward; the brute; the unsociable individual; etc. These caricatures have being used to death by mainstream anime, especially shonen, and create characters that can only act based on that stereotype. Scissor Seven demolishes this conception through diverting expectation and good development of individuals. For example, I will use Da Chun to show this. When Seven initially meets Da Chun, he seems like the stereotypical goody two shoes responsible person of the group who knows best, but it is later revealed that he was ostracised by his original cast. This is reflected when later Da Chun states after doing a bunch of impressive shit that you would expect from the competent one of the group; that he just copied all the cool and flamboyant stunts and attacks off fictional media, showing that in reality he is just as vulnerable as everyone else but just has a little more integrity than the normal person. There is an endless list of characters who are seemingly pigeon holed into stereotypes just for them to be broken, which by doing this makes almost every character a joy to watch and grow.

CONCLUSION

The genre which Scissor Seven is in is impossible to pinpoint, it can seem like at times a comedy, action, romance, drama, or all of them at the same time, and that’s why I think this show is so great; apart from everything else I mentioned of course. Scissor Seven provides literally everything and somehow manages to nail whichever genre it decides to be. When it wants to be a drama, it has moments that are sad enough to make you cry. When it wasn’t to be an action, it has scenes that are so adrenaline filled to make you fly. When it wants to be a comedy, it has jokes and comedic timing that can make you cry but with laughter; and when it wants to be a romance, it has character development that makes you roll around on your bed like a teenage girl texting their boyfriend. This show is simply a ten out of ten, and there’s no way around it.

Once in a while a show can really surprise you with how fun it can be. You can start the show wondering 'why am I watching this' but soon enough the same content that made you question yourself grows on you to the point that you start enjoying every single moment. Scissor Seven is that kind of a show. In this review I will review all 3 seasons together.

When you watch season 1 you are given very little information about the characters throughout the season. And whatever you see is unspectecular in terms of the story or characters. But it helps that the episodes ... are short and you go through all that very quickly. That is not to say season 1 was bad. It was a fun watch often tickling your heart with strong moments. But what really won me over was the 3 episode OVAs. You get to know more about the main characters and they grow on you. Once that happens there is no going back. Everything the show offers seems fun and every episode feels worth it. The show itself doesn’t change much throughout 3 seasons with 6-7 light hearted episodes followed by 3-4 episodes closing out a season focusing more on the central plot. The show relies on It's top notch animation, action, characters and music to give you a very pleasant experience filled with comedy and warmth.

Story: The story itself isn’t all that special despite having enough to have you want to know what happens next. The show never pretends to be serious and It's shorter episodes make it an easy watch. The story revolves around Seven an assassin with amnesia living a new life in a different island. The show deals with Seven interacting with various people within the island, be involved in their moments of warmth and eventually protect them when they are endangered. His past will eventually come to haunt him and he has to deal with making sure no one gets hurt. The show is very good at providing just the right amount of information about Seven's past to have you hooked into the show.

Art and Animation: A common problem with the little amount of Chinese animated products I've seen is the characters can often look very similar. That isn’t the case with Scissor Seven. The art is lovely and the animation is superb with some great action sequences as well. The visuals only improve every season with the use of better technology.

Sound: What can I say? I've never seen Chinese animated works fail to produce good music. Scissor Seven is no exception. The music is top notch with memorable opening tunes, catchy endings, good soundtracks and touching insert songs. I often find myself going into youtube and listening to the soundtracks. Not something I find myself doing too often.

Characters: You love the characters the more you see them. The selling point of the show is the heart warming character interactions in my opinion. What is important is to give them time. While the jokes won't outright make you laugh, it'll do enough to keep you feeling good throughout the show. The early episodes of every season focus on character introductions or development in an episodic manner. Everytime a character reappears there is something new to learn about them or a development to be seen.

So overall Scissor Seven is fun with quality animation, music, and character interactions. It paints a good picture of the warmth in between chinese people in the best way possible. Hope this review motivated you to give the show a chance. I know I enjoyed it a lot and I hope you will too. Here's hoping the follow up movie keeps up the momentum.

STORY:
I really thought season two was the peak of Scissor Seven, but this is the mountain top and it keeps the momentum. Season 3 is the kid with straight A's/high marks on their report card.

Everything you love about Scissor Seven: the fluidity of its animation, the infinite crackhead energy, the seamless balance of humor and action, and Seven's mysterious past. It all gets developed further or improved. The tone gets slightly darker as well. Don’t worry it’s not an edgefest.

Seven is ready to get down to business. He's gotten back some of the memories of his past life, but now there's a steep bounty on ... his head. The whole first half of the season explore the worldbuilding/different locations, but it all leads to a countdown to Seven's destination, Xuanwu Kingdom.

This is one of my favorite recently animated shows and definitely one of the best Chinese animations. It's lighthearted and easy to binge-watch due to the short run time and digestible storylines. You also don't have to worry about weird fanservice (save for some titty shots in ep 5), so, yes, you can watch this in front of people!

Also, the development of the Seven + Thirteen relationship is so good! <3 I hadn't thought too much about them before, because gag comedy and all, but I want these two together now. He can be serious and goofy with her.

As a nitpick, this show introduces more questions than it answers. While we do get a nice chunk of Seven's past life, the majority of the time is spent introducing new one-off characters or spending time with side ones.

CHARACTERS:
I enjoy the cast of characters, and I love the little spotlight Dachun gets here. He’s one of my favorites and oh-so wholesome. We get to learn a little bit more about some of the other side characters too.

ART:
If it were possible, the animation seems to have gotten even sleeker. The fight scenes are still visually-appealing and fast-paced. There are a lot more dynamic angles and exploration of locations than before. Character designs are appealing though I wonder when Asian artists will tire of the Sambo-looking bloated lips. I adore the design of Qingfeng and the Thumbs Up guy.

SOUND:
The music has also improved, and its presence is more noticeable. A few of the tracks take on a godly orchestra sound and heighten the tension. The ending theme still takes on the same lullaby sound as previous seasons.

There was no Japanese dub this time around, so I listened to the original Mandarin Chinese. Very good! I’ve no qualms.

Overall, I have high praises all around for Scissor Seven's third season. And episode 9 was just startlingly beautiful. Can’t wait for the movie. If you're looking for something quick and enjoyable, go start with Season 1!

For sure more consistent than the previous seasons. I got a little worried when it seemed like they would just have random episodes that don't move the plot forward, but they get into a good amount of plot this season. The downside is it doesn't really have the highs of the previous seasons.

The animation is still not great, but nothing as bad as season 2. It's got charm, and it does it's job. You still get lots of time with likeable characters. The main thing I dislike in this season is the fights. There's more of them, which isn't bad, but a lot of them, ... especially important ones, always seem to fall into the same tropes. Either someone comes in at the last minute, or the character just feels like winning at some point, and works through near death to win. I want the fights to be a bit more interesting.

Overall it's still got the charm it had from the previous seasons. The finalle didn't wow me as much as the previous ones did, but it was a lot more consistent throughout and I binged it all. It's a recommend from me, I'm seeing this through.

Scissor Seven, currently in its third season, has greatly pleased me by going above and beyond to make Seven known for who he was all along (his assassin suit is just badass). I noticed that this season featured more action in terms of combat scenes, and boy, the quantity of frames dedicated to this project truly blows your mind as to why this anime series is being slept on.

I liked how we got to witness our boi and Thirteen start to have feelings for one other since their connection is wholesome throughout the three seasons, but it's tricky because they're always interrupted by a ... series of unfortunate circumstances lol.

I even liked the fact we get to see Seven going around different types of islands and facing off the leaders like it was so hype man! You’re always literally lost in the fights because they made the whole series so damn good!

I’m so looking forward to the movie, I want it to come already!!!

As someone who watches cartoon and anime for a long time, this show is a fresh air to breathe. The animation and art style is wonderful. Such a shame people who haven't watched this gem immediately misjudged.

You know what I absolutely fond of this show? They give backstory to the supporting characters and teased us so many times about the mains'. And the pacing is truly clever, not too slow, not too rushed. I'm really glad they use the characters' potential wisely, especially DaChun. I'm rooting for him so much more in this season.

They also balance the tension and hilariousness between the characters ... really well. I couldn't be bored watching this show.

And the opening is catchy as freak. I just couldn't skip it and dance to it.

I feel like everyone who watches the show knows this, but I just can't help myself to say that: Seven is so hot and lovable omg. Hair up or hair down, I adore him with all my heart.

I'm really excited to see the new characters in the next season. I will patiently waiting until the finale of this show.

The third season of Scissor Seven: Xuanwu Kingdom Chapter sees another increase in quality and transitions from the usual action-comedy blend to a much more compelling narrative by the end, despite no concrete ending. The contrast in writing and cinematography in the finale added serious weight to the conflict and consequences, and the commitment to the tonal shift worked phenomenally when juxtaposed with the initial lighthearted humor of the first half. Moreover, the character relationships and themes of memories and family were integrated well. Those opening episodes were enjoyable as per usual, but the direction the story is heading in is honestly much more exciting.
