Safe from the storms. :)
Praise God!
Thank you all for your prayers. 💓
You are “a very present help in trouble.” (Psalm 46:1).
“Thou art my hiding place, thou shalt preserve me from trouble” (Psalm 32:7)

For Odie
August 2013. Wally Gator came to visit. I was mowing. He was not impressed with the tractor.
When pressed, he went around the oak tree.
Hubby decided to lasso him.
And we took him back across the street to his bayou home.
He was not thankful.. ;-)
We're glad he didn't show up for the reunion. No telling what the little kids would have thought.
There you have it, Odie :) Wally Gators have round noses. Crocs have pointed noses. :-D
You all be safe and God bless.

Trees
Been some hard few years here in Louisiana. Between weather and drought. But I took a few pictures when I was out in some nice weather the other day.
Corner oak today.
In 2010 it had a circumference of roughly 283 inches. I have not measured it since then because of things, haha.
And the gate oak. It has suffered a bit more, but is still a tree that draws me.
When I measured this tree in 2010, it had a circumference of roughly 254 inches.
When we moved here in 2012, we wondered about the trees and had the local AG center come out in 2013. They said Louisiana had been having a drought before then, so they were mostly just stressed.
So, drought, weather and drought. I still thank the Lord for the trees we still have. :)
You all be safe and God bless.

Low day
If I had known then what I know now, I would never have gotten a manufactured home.
Please forgive me, Lord. I DO give you the praise and the glory for watching over us and providing for us.
Thank you, Lord.
You all be safe and God bless.

Been a hot summer
And very dry. They are promising to prosecute anyone burning anything.
They had to back off of telling the LSU fans they couldn't tailgate this weekend at the game, though. The original announcement that it would not be allowed went over worse than a lead balloon, haha. They will allow the tailgate BBQs.
Old house looks cool enough in the hundred degree heat we've been having, don't you think?
We had a thunderstorm blow through. Lowered the temp to 78. It's starting to climb, but fortunately it's 1530, so not enough time to heat back up a lot. Not enough to stop the burn ban, but a blessing from the Lord all the same.
As is the generator He had us install. Whole house (the trailer / manufactured home is only 50x26) generator that we have needed four times now in the last two and a half weeks. No explanation from the electric co-op. Makes me thankful for the propane that our stupid government wants to outlaw.
Lord forgive me, but I hate the people behind the scenes that have too much money..
Flea market Saturday tomorrow!
You all be safe and God bless.

So the year is almost half over.
Not posting much. Still try to read blogs. Comment when I feel I have something to say.
So, a few pictures.
I have never seen ducks perch. Sorry for the quality but as you can see it was early morning and I spotted them as we were leaving the house.
Not sure why; but I never knew that potatoes bloomed.
For me, potatoes are the easiest things to grow. Even if you can't take care of them properly, they will give you a harvest. Thank you, Lord. :)
We have a cat that adopted us. Not sure what happened to her tail. It was like that when she said she needed to live with us. Hubby named her Punkin. She LOVES to run. Her nickname is Punkin McQueen. She also likes to climb. Yes, that is a hand truck that she likes to climb on to see where else she might be able to get to. :)
If I did it right, this link will open in a new window to show her speed...
Crawfish season is almost over. May try to get one more meal if we can. :)
Hard to believe it has been two months now. There many times when it is definitely believable.
You all be safe and God bless.

Around the house
The mowing "Supervisors" checking to see where all the bugs and frogs are. :)
Magnolias are blooming.
As is the Catalpa tree.
Too bad we are in the middle of farm land. We never see catalpa worms. ..
You all be safe and God bless.

I can only Imagine
This photo is from what I have come to call "The Before Time". Before God let the tornado take our farmhouse; but protected us.
One of my five brothers took this picture two years before hubby retired from Civil Service. We drove back and forth from NC for four years, if you will recall; before he actually decided to retire. On one trip my brother thought they could make it, too. He and his wife had come down from Michigan. It rained most of the time they were here.
But on the nice days, he and my hubby built these steps. Brother is a carpenter (well, he runs a construction company) and these steps will last long after nature takes back the house.
I still think about trying to move these steps, but too much stuff in the way now.
You all be safe and God bless.

48 years, 8 months, 3 weeks and 6 days
That is what the anniversary banner at the bottom of my blog reads today.
I Praise God for every day I had with him.
No more pain now.
You all be safe and God bless.

Praise God in all things.
It would seem His will is not what I had hoped; but His will is to be praised.
I've been told it's probably a matter of days.
You all be safe, God bless and love the ones you hold dear.
And praise God in everything.

Hope you all are well.
I have to apologize the lack of reading and commenting. Just too much real life.
And when I get a minute it seems like I just fall asleep.
I do think about you all. I pray all of you in areas with crazy weather are doing fine.
Be safe and God bless.

Praise the Lord!
I don't care what anyone says, the Lord still gives miracles.
And massive doses of thiamine made a difference, also.
Thank you, Lord.
You all be safe and God bless.

I know many of you
Have seen this on faceless book; but I ask you to pray for my husband. Ask everyone you can to pray for him.
He is asking me to kill him. :-(
You all be safe and God bless. ❤️
