    Today marks another big milestone for Search: I’m excited to share that we’re rolling out AI Mode to 36 new languages and more than 40 new countries and territories, bringing it to over 200 countries and territories total, including many across Europe. Now, millions more people will be able to truly ask anything in their preferred language and get responses that are genuinely helpful and relevant to them. What makes this possible are the dramatically more powerful capabilities unlocked by our latest Gemini models in Search, which use advanced reasoning and multimodal understanding in order to pick up the nuance and subtleties specific to a local language. The pace of innovation in Search is accelerating and it’s stunning to think that we only started rolling out this experience a couple of months ago!     Meet PJ, a Mountain View-based software engineer (SWE) at Google. As a member of the Android Framework team, PJ helps build and maintain the infrastructure behind the Play Store’s Android app. “Initially, I planned to go into research,” PJ says. “However, over time I became more interested in exploring technical applications” — something he realized during the Google internship he completed in a previous summer. Now a full time Googler, PJ says his favorite part of work is the sense of community. He describes his coworkers as “extremely smart and down to earth” and values the relationships he’s built as a member of Noograds, a group for Googlers who’ve recently graduated. “All of these connections make work feel so much more engaging,” he explains.     Today we introduced a new partnership with Alex Cooper and the Unwell Network. Alex and her media network will use the Google ecosystem — including tools like Pixel, Gemini and more — to manage their operational and creative needs. We’ll also be working with the newly launched Unwell Creative Agency on events, campaigns and activations, starting first at this weekend’s Unwell Vegas.     It was great to be in West Memphis to announce that Google is investing $4B in Arkansas to support the next wave of American innovation powered by AI. Google’s work in Arkansas will deliver energy capacity and create high-paying jobs, while protecting energy affordability for ratepayers. This commitment includes accelerating energy affordability initiatives in the local community through an Energy Impact Fund, working in partnership with Entergy to cover the full cost of powering the data center in West Memphis to keep rates down, and also deploying load flexibility solutions to lower data center energy demand during peak grid periods. Google’s investment will also help ensure that Arkansans can gain AI fluency and job-ready skills, training the next generation of great talent that will build and benefit from the opportunities technology presents – with a wonderful role model in my extraordinary colleague John Jumper, 2024 Nobel Prize winner in Chemistry for his work with Google DeepMind and a proud son of Arkansas. But how can we trust AI to do this? Through rigorous verification. 🕵️ CodeMender uses advanced analysis to ensure the fixes are correct and prevents breakages in the wider code. It only sends fully vetted, high-quality solutions for human review. And it’s already created and submitted 72 high-quality fixes for serious security issues in major open-source projects.     Meet Aveek, a Staff Engineer on the Global Hardware Quality & Reliability team. He’s worked on more than a dozen products at Google — some of them the first of their kind in the industry — and as he puts it, "Every one of them is my baby and I want every one of them to be as successful as it can be.” “I help launch our Google Cloud hardware products, from the initial concept all the way to production,” he explains. “My job involves identification and resolution of hardware failures, using every tool at my disposal, including dabbling with lots and lots of data. I really enjoy the challenges of this role and the wide variety of work our team gets to do.” Before coming to Google, Aveek’s background was in chemical and industrial engineering, and he cites his flexibility as a crucial part of his success in the Cloud enterprise hardware space. "Technical backgrounds vary,” he says, but “I believe in the importance of adaptability — constantly learning, unlearning and relearning. My ultimate goal is to resolve issues collaboratively and respectfully. It's a bonus if the problem aligns with your educational background, but it's not a prerequisite for effective problem-solving.” Ready to take on new challenges like Aveek?     One feature I have been really enjoying using is Live in Search – it’s really easy to use and lets you have a voice conversation with Search. The feature brings the best of AI Mode and Google Lens together and allows you to use your phone’s camera to show Search exactly what you’re seeing as well. Right now it’s available in English in the U.S. and here’s how you can try it out: ► First, open the Google app (Android and iOS) and tap the new Live icon under the search bar.  ► You can start asking your questions out loud and enable video to share from your camera. ► You can also access Live in Search via Google Lens by selecting the new Live option at the bottom of the screen.     With support from a new #Google.org grant, Sesame Workshop is launching new online safety resources to help children build healthy relationships with technology from a young age. These videos and digital resources feature the Muppets of Sesame Street and teach children, families and caregivers how to create healthy digital habits  — from how to “stop and take a breath” when using digital media to prioritizing connections with loved ones.
