About us

Amazon is guided by four principles: customer obsession rather than competitor focus, passion for invention, commitment to operational excellence, and long-term thinking. We are driven by the excitement of building technologies, inventing products, and providing services that change lives. We embrace new ways of doing things, make decisions quickly, and are not afraid to fail. We have the scope and capabilities of a large company, and the spirit and heart of a small one. Together, Amazonians research and develop new technologies from Amazon Web Services to Alexa on behalf of our customers: shoppers, sellers, content creators, and developers around the world. Our mission is to be Earth's most customer-centric company. Our actions, goals, projects, programs, and inventions begin and end with the customer top of mind. You'll also hear us say that at Amazon, it's always "Day 1." What do we mean? That our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon's very first day - to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and focus on delighting our customers.

My team and I spend every day thinking about how AI can help advertisers and partners plan, create, and grow their businesses – so it was a welcome change of pace to talk about how I use it on the home front, too.   I loved being part of this story that shares how leaders across Amazon are using AI outside the office: keeping family calendars from imploding (yes, that one’s me), discovering new books, and turning handwritten family recipes into a conversation in the kitchen (definitely borrowing that one 🍽️).   Across everything from shopping hacks to daily routines, it was fun to compare notes with Doug HerringtonPanos PanayKara H. Hurst, and Beryl Tomay on how AI is showing up in everyday life.   If you’re curious how leaders across Amazon are putting AI to work beyond the day job, take a look 👇 https://lnkd.in/g9NSsSZA   #AI #AmazonAds #LifeAtAmazon

What does a typical day look like for Amazon's CEO? Andy Jassy sat down with NFL stars Ryan Fitzpatrick and Andrew Whitworth for their "Fitz & Whit" podcast, sharing the routine he's built to stay on top of what's happening across Amazon's businesses and connected to our teams. Here's a peek: 🌅 6:00 AM – The day starts early with an hour on the elliptical, where Andy multitasks through emails and morning updates 📋 8:00 AM – Arrives at work and creates a prioritized list of 20-30 tasks (knowing he won't complete them all—it's about daily reprioritization based on what’s most important) 💼 Throughout the day – Meetings fill most of the schedule, but Andy protects 1-2 hours to read about the business, write, and communicate directly with his teams 🏡 Evening – Makes it home for dinner with his family, and still keeps a couple of date nights on the calendar each week Listen to the full episode: Wave Sports & Entertainment

Big news to kick off #CES week! Our teams are rolling out Alexa.com, launching a new Fire TV UI, unveiling the Amazon Ember Artline TV, and sharing an update on AI wearables from Bee. Here are the details: The power of Alexa+ is now available on the web for all Early Access customers. Alexa.com is a completely new way to interact with our AI assistant, offering seamless integration across devices with persistent context so you can access Alexa’s deep knowledge wherever you are. It’s built for action, not just answers, so you can do things like manage your calendars, control your smart home, plan meals, and make reservations. This meaningfully expands how customers can use Alexa—pumped about where we can go from here. We’re also rolling out an overhauled Fire TV experience that’s built to help customers spend less time searching and more time watching. Customers will see speeds up to 30% faster on the hardware they already have, and the re-designed UI makes it easier to discover content across subscriptions. The Amazon Ember Artline TV is gorgeous. It’s a 4K QLED TV that has a matte screen to make your art and photos look great and reduce glare. It includes Alexa+ and seamless integration with Amazon Photos, more than 2,000 pieces of free art, and the new Fire TV UI. Rounding out today’s news, Bee shared an update on how we’re working together to evolve AI wearables—building new features and experiences that have the potential to reach customers everywhere. Congrats to all the teams shipping today! More to come tomorrow. Get the latest here: https://lnkd.in/gSgGCTY7  #CES2026

As we close out 2025, incredibly grateful for our teammates and partners who've driven real impact in the communities where we live and work. While there's still more to do, here's a look at some of the progress made this year: 1. Through our $3.6B housing fund, we surpassed 23K affordable homes created and preserved this year for 50K+ residents across the Puget Sound, National Capital Region, and Nashville. 2. We collaborated with 50+ food banks in the U.S. and U.K. to deliver over 12.8M meals to the doorsteps of more than 82K families in need and committed to continuing our support of our partners for another 3 years. We also transported 70M meals from suppliers to food banks, and from food banks to pantries, schools, and other community distribution points worldwide. 3. We responded to 30 natural disasters across 12 countries—using our logistics network to deliver over 1.6M relief items to nonprofits and our disaster relief technology to help restore power and connectivity to impacted communities. We also donated $10M to support relief efforts after the devastating wildfires in California and $3M after the historic flooding in our home state of Washington. 4. Over 275K Amazon volunteers across 56 countries organized 26K events this year, including a record 134K participants in our Global Month of Volunteering in May. We partnered with 2.5K+ nonprofits across 40+ countries, including Habitat for Humanity, Everybody Wins DC, and Roc Solid Foundation. 5. Through Future Ready 2030, our $2.5B global commitment to education and skills training, we're helping prepare 50M people for the future of work. Our Amazon Future Engineer program also provided over 17M hours of STEM education to 1.1M students in the U.S. and awarded $17.3M in scholarships to 900+ students in the U.S. and India. And we committed to AI skills training for 4M U.S. learners through the White House's Pledge to America's Youth. 6. Six years after founding The Climate Pledge, our commitment to net-zero carbon by 2040, we hit a significant milestone of over 600 Climate Pledge signatories who will play a critical role in stimulating investment in the development of low-carbon products and services. 7. We celebrated 25 years of independent sellers in Amazon's store—most of which are small and medium-sized businesses that continue to strengthen local economies across the country. These sellers make up more than 60% of sales in our store, have generated more than $2.5T in cumulative sales, and in 2024, employed more than 2M people in the U.S. providing over $100B in wages.   We want communities to be better off because we're there, and we'll keep building on this in 2026, leveraging Amazon's size, scale, and unique ability to help. Excited about what we'll accomplish together. Happy New Year!

POV: The social media manager is out of office and you thought "how hard could it be?" 🎥 Spoiler alert: The elaborate setup was flawless. The camera angle? Not so much. At least we got a great selfie out of it! In all seriousness, this time of year is when many of our incredible employees and partners take well-deserved time to rest and recharge after another year of hard work and dedication. We're grateful for everything they do to drive innovation and serve our customers. (And yes, we have full coverage—this is just us having a little fun!) 😄
