When there was an opportunity to join the Cloud Business Intelligence team as a Looker Sales Lead in a new market, Rakhi made the move from India to our Melbourne Docklands office. Once she arrived, she found that the role was about much more than just numbers. "Working at Google and representing Looker means more than just solving technical problems; it’s about the people. From critical customer issues to representing our tech at industry events, the energy is non-stop," she explains. “The most impactful conversations happen when we move past 'how the tool works' and start discussing how data can reshape a business model.” To keep the creative momentum going after those big conversations, Rakhi relies on a workspace designed for spontaneous "aha!" moments. "You’ll find graffiti walls in meeting rooms, quirky Melbournian names for meeting rooms, large open space for events, table tennis/pool, photo booth and plenty of cozy breakout spaces with seating," she says about the office. Today, Rakhi’s impact continues to grow beyond her day-to-day role. She leads initiatives for Women@Australia, and collaborates with Google Research on hearing health accessibility. Tag your friend or co-worker who needs to hear this: If you’re a U.S. Google user, you can now change your account username for tools like Gmail, Photos, Drive and more — while keeping your emails, data and account history. Here’s what to know: 1️⃣ You can choose any available @gmail.com username. 2️⃣ Your old username will become an alias, so you won’t lose access to it. You can still sign in and send and receive emails with both usernames. Plus, you can also revert to your old username. 3️⃣ You can choose a new username once a year — up to three times total. Here’s more information to get started --> https://goo.gle/4v3g1ry

For Daniel, the path to his current job as Manager of Ads Marketing Analytics in Mexico City began with a passion for AI and a search for a culture where innovation is a fundamental part of the DNA. He describes the Mexico City office as a “dream” because “it combines a world-class tech environment with the vibrant, fast-paced energy of one of the most beautiful cities in the world.” Daniel’s day-to-day involves leading a team of data scientists and engineers to ensure every user data point serves a larger marketing purpose. His team uses “advanced analytics and cutting-edge AI to uncover key insights, optimize marketing campaigns and ensure our strategies are data-driven and highly effective.” When it comes to joining the team, Daniel’s advice for future Googlers is to move beyond the classroom and start solving real problems. “Don’t just take classes; contribute to open-source projects, enter Kaggle competitions or solve a problem in your local community using data. Google looks for 'owners' — people who see a problem and don't wait for permission to fix it.” Looking to join the Mexico City office? Check out our open roles → https://goo.gle/4qM2XDE
