Trend Update: Groans & Birth Pains, September 2017

Luke 21:25 And there will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and on the earth distress of nations in perplexity because of the roaring of the sea and the waves… -Jesus

Isaiah 51:15 I am the LORD your God, who stirs up the sea so that its waves roar— the LORD of hosts is his name.

Pray for people around the world impacted by natural disasters.

The planet is currently experiencing a rough patch. Some have referenced the creation groaning. Others have called these events birth pains.

Romans 8:22 For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now.

The state of Florida is on the verge of taking a direct hit from Hurricane Irma. The storm is one of the largest and one of the most destructive hurricanes in the Atlantic basin in recorded history. At times, winds have been reported up to 215 mph. Islands experiencing the storm have been devastated.

The Gulf Coast of Texas and Louisiana are recovering from the flooding rains and winds of Hurricane Harvey. Up to 41 million people in Bangladesh, India, and Nepal are suffering from historic flooding in southeast Asia. Flooding and mudslides have occurred in Africa’s Sierra Leone.

2 Peter 3:7 But by the same word the heavens and earth that now exist are stored up for fire, being kept until the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly.

The scope of Peter’s verse is the heavens and earth. Fire plays a significant role in the end times scenario.

The situation in the western half of the United States is an ignored tragedy. I am not suggesting these wild fires are the judgment of God.

76 forest fires are noted in 9 western states. Approximately 1.4 million acres of land are burning. The smoke can be viewed by satellites from space. Smoke can be observed from space from the west coast to the east coast of the United States.

Know at some point in the future, judgment is coming to the planet in the form of fire.

Luke 21:11 …and there will be great earthquakes…

September 8, 2017: A magnitude 8.1 earthquake struck off the coast of Mexico. Multiple aftershocks of 5.0 have been registered. As of this date, 61 are reported dead. Nearly 2 million homes have lost power. Tsunami warnings were issued. Waves as high as 3 feet were reported. Hurricane Katia in the western Gulf of Mexico will only complicate the matter.

A swarm of over 200 quakes has been reported on the southwest edge of Yellowstone in Soda Springs, Idaho. Over 2,300 tremors have been reported in the Yellowstone caldera since the beginning of June 2017.

Is this the time Jesus referenced? Did He really mean what He said? Jesus also spoke of a better day. Good news is coming.

Luke 21:28 Now when these things begin to take place, straighten up and raise your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.

The focus is on the word “redemption”. It is the Greek word ἀπολύτρωσις/apolutrósis. Strong’s Concordance defines as: release effected by payment of ransom; redemption, deliverance.

HELPS word studies states the following: literally, “buying back from, re-purchasing (winning back) what was previously forfeited (lost).”

The believer’s glorification is coming. We will be transformed and born again.

1 Corinthians 15:49 Just as we have borne the image of the man of dust, we shall also bear the image of the man of heaven.

Millennial Kingdom: Ending Hunger

Genesis 3:17b-19 …Cursed is the ground because of you; in toil you will eat of it all the days of your life. Both thorns and thistles it shall grow for you; and you will eat the plants of the field; by the sweat of your face you will eat bread, till you return to the ground, because from it you were taken; for you are dust, and to dust you shall return.

In the Millennial Kingdom, the Genesis curse will be reversed. Adam’s choice to eat the forbidden fruit resulted in a curse to the ground. Because of this, we have weeds and thorns. Food does not grow as plentiful as intended. Acquisition of food is by hard, laborious work and effort. Sweat was not originally intended. Sweat is a consequence of the fall in Eden.

In Romans, the Apostle Paul confirms the earth is still under the curse even though Christ has died for sin. The fact we still have thorns and thistles on plant life confirms the ongoing curse. Check out a rose or a cactus. They are reminders of the fall of man. The land has yet to be freed from bondage. The redemptive and liberating event remains in the future as of 2016 AD.

Romans 8:19-22 For the anxious longing of the creation waits eagerly for the revealing of the sons of God. For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself also will be set free from its slavery to corruption into the freedom of the glory of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation groans and suffers the pains of childbirth together until now.

Here is a glimpse into the future. The Bible describes what agricultural production will be during the Millennial Kingdom under Jesus Christ.

Zechariah 8:12 For there will be peace for the seed: the vine will yield its fruit, the land will yield its produce…

The Hebrew word for “peace” is Shalom. Per Strong’s Concordance, it means: peace, quiet, tranquility, contentment, welfare, health, prosperity; completeness (in number); safety, soundness (in body).

The seeds of plants and trees will no longer face a hostile soil or earth. They will grow in a safe and tranquil environment, free to grow to their potential.

Ezekiel 36:29b-30 …and I will call for the grain and multiply it, and I will not bring a famine on you. I will multiply the fruit of the tree and the produce of the field, so that you will not receive again the disgrace of famine among the nations.

Joel 2:22b … for the open pastures are becoming green. The trees are bearing their fruit; the fig-tree and the vine yield their riches.

Joel 2:24 The threshing floors will be full of grain, and the vats will overflow with the new wine and oil.

Isaiah 30:23b …and bread from the yield of the ground, and it will be rich and plenteous…

Say goodbye to commercials with starving children. Jesus will end hunger once and for all.

Isaiah 11:6 The Curse is Reversed, Part 1

Isaiah 11:6-8 And the wolf will dwell with the lamb, and the leopard will lie down with the young goat, and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little boy will lead them. Also the cow and the bear will graze, their young will lie down together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox. The nursing child will play by the hole of the cobra, and the weaned child will put his hand on the viper’s den.

Is this a picture of the animal kingdom in today’s world, February 2014? Look at the pairs of animals: wolf and lamb; leopard and goat, lion and cow. Currently wolves, leopards, and lions are carnivores and predators. Lambs, goats, and cows are herbivores. They are also a meal and prey. I have seen the documentaries on the National Geographic cable channel, I know how these stories end.

Children of all ages, a nursing baby (ages 0-2), a weaned child (ages 2-4), and a small boy (ages 5 plus) are noted in the original Hebrew language. Young children of all ages are represented in these verses. In verse 6, the Hebrew term is na’ar. It means a boy, lad, or youth. In verse 8, the “nursing child” is the Hebrew term yanaq. It is as translated, a nursing infant. The “weaned child” in the Hebrew is gamal. (definitions per Strong’s Concordance). The text states these young children are safely playing around poisonous snake dens. The cobra and the viper are poisonous snakes. I have a nonpoisonous snake that lives under my front porch. I would love to kill it. Apparently, my current attitude would not exist in a future time.

Look at the living conditions. These animals are living together. Prey are living fearlessly with predators. Today, would a goat take a nap with a leopard? A 2-4 year old child is running around with these animals. Would parents allow their children to do this? The lion is described as an herbivore and eating grass, not exactly the image we have of a lion in February of 2014.

This is not the only place where these conditions are promised. Isaiah 65:25 verifies the same harmonious conditions. “The wolf and the lamb will graze together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox…”

Imagine the impact on animal life with the curse removed. Reproduction in animal life will result in an explosion of population. Radical behavior changes are coming to the animal kingdom.
