Definitions
- the invention relates to a device for releasably securing a dental prosthesis, for example, crowns, bridges, partial or full dentures, on a fixed in a mouth of a dental prosthesis wearer primary part using a locking element.
- a dental prosthesis for example, crowns, bridges, partial or full dentures
- Devices for releasable attachment of a dental prosthesis with a pivotable latch are, for example, DE 40 29 148 C1, DE 10 2005 016 642 Al, DE 33 12 908
- Tooth replacement part which is usually a so-called secondary part, is pivotally mounted and engages in the closed position in a recess of the other dental prosthesis, which is usually a tight-fitting so-called primary part.
- a fixedly attached to a tooth recording / holding element to which a support member is attachable, wherein the support member receives, for example, artificial teeth.
- the receiving / holding element is fastened, for example, to a bearing block, which is connected to a metal piece of a supporting tooth.
- the support member includes a tray and a spring tongue, the tray having a gallows with an opening which is placed on the receiving / holding element, so that the receiving / holding element engages in the opening of the gallows.
- the opening sets around the receiving / retaining element, wherein at the same time the spring element, for example, a resilient, tongue-like pin is pushed back into the interior of the drawer against the spring force and then snaps into a recess of the bearing block.
- the dental prosthesis is secured to the bearing block and thus also to the supporting tooth.
- a pivotable locking plate may be provided.
- the locking plate is fastened to the carrier element by means of a locking disc holder. For locking the locking plate is pivoted into a groove of the receiving / holding element, so that a lifting of the denture is only possible with the disc out.
- pivotable locking discs are usually arranged in the secondary part, that they are pivotable in the horizontal direction about a vertically arranged axis. Therefore, the provided for pivoting the locking plate actuating elements are also matched in position and orientation to the locking plate so as to achieve a horizontal pivoting in an operation.
- Such actuators are difficult to access in the mouth of a dental prosthesis carrier in certain positions, so that it is an object of the present invention to provide an alternative device for releasably securing a dental prosthesis having a locking element that simply unlocks in certain positions in the mouth of a dental prosthesis carrier and lock.
- a further object of the present invention is to provide a space-saving possibility for locking a dental prosthesis, in particular a locking element which takes up less installation space than the pivotable locking discs known in the prior art.
- the device contains a secondary part, which has a locking element, wherein the secondary part can be locked to the primary part via the locking element.
- the locking element is rotatably mounted about an axis in the secondary part and rotatable about a first and a second rotational angular position about this axis. In the first rotational angular position, the locking element is locked under a projection of the primary part. In the second angular position, the secondary part is unlocked.
- the axis about which the locking element is rotatable is arranged substantially horizontally in the secondary part.
- a denture in this context is in particular a crown, a bridge, a partial denture or a full denture.
- a primary part is a part intended for fastening the dental prosthesis, which is firmly anchored in the mouth of the dental prosthesis carrier.
- the secondary part can be locked via the locking element with a primary part, which is a retaining element fastened to an implant or to a residual tooth includes.
- the holding element is, for example, the head of an implant or a receiving / holding element, as described in DE 103 25 940 B4.
- a secondary part is a permanently connectable with a denture part over which the dental prosthesis can be releasably attached to the fixed in the mouth of the dental prosthesis wearer primary part.
- the secondary part has a locking element, wherein the secondary part can be locked to the primary part via the locking element.
- the locking and unlocking takes place via an active actuation of the locking element by the dental prosthesis support itself or by another person such as the dentist.
- the locking element is rotatably mounted in the secondary part about an axis. About this axis, the locking element is rotatable in a first rotational angular position, in which the locking element is locked under a projection of the primary part.
- the latch member is preferably a rotary latch which is rotatable about its major axis to rotate a latch portion under the projection to establish a latched condition.
- the rotary latch may for example have a nose which engages in a locked state under the projection.
- the locking element of the rotary bolt by rotation of the locking element by at least 45 °, preferably by at least 90 °, more preferably by 180 ° in one direction from the first to the second rotational angular position and in the other direction from the second in the rotated first angular position.
- a region of the locking element is rotated below the head of the implant, so that this area prevents withdrawal of the head from the secondary part. If this region of the locking element is in a second rotational angle position, the head can easily pass the locking element and be pulled out of the secondary part of the head.
- the head is a ball head of a ball-and-socket implant.
- a head with a different shape can also be used.
- the locking element comprises a bar pivotable about the axis with a cross section in the form of a circular sector, preferably with a semicircular cross section, which is rotatable for locking under the head of the implant and for unlocking from the head.
- this locking element has a largely cylindrical body whose axis of symmetry corresponds to the axis about which the locking element is rotatably mounted. In the latch area, this cylindrical body has a recess, so that the latch area results with the semicircular cross section.
- the latch area is arranged below the head at the level of the base element of the implant, which has a smaller diameter.
- the locking area can be rotated out of the longitudinal opening again and the recess of the locking element facing the head, so that the head of the implant is displaceable in the longitudinal opening and the secondary element can thus be removed from the implant.
- Such a locking element rotatable about the central axis with a locking region with a semicircular cross-section has the advantage that it can be arranged in a space-saving manner in the body of the secondary part, in particular in comparison with a pivotable locking disk.
- the body of the secondary part with the longitudinal opening for receiving the head is preferably designed so that it has a cover made of a buffer material against which the head rests when it is completely arranged in the longitudinal opening.
- This cover is arranged in a region between the dental prosthesis and the secondary part when the dental prosthesis is connected to the secondary part. It serves as a buffer between the head of the implant and the dental prosthesis attached to the secondary part, in order to reduce the load on the dental prosthesis transferred by the implant to the jaw.
- a cover for example, serve a cushion of silicone.
- the cover is detachably connected to the body of the secondary part and can be exchanged and adapted to specific wishes of the dental prosthesis wearer, even if the secondary part is already connected to the dentures.
- the longitudinal opening provided in the body of the secondary part for accommodating the head is adaptable to the diameter of a head of an implant.
- at least one (e.g., cylindrical) sleeve is received in the longitudinal opening, which in turn includes a further longitudinal opening of lesser diameter, the further longitudinal opening serving to receive the head of the implant.
- the further longitudinal opening has an open area, which overlaps with the window in the body of the secondary part, so that a latch area of a rotary latch can be rotated through the window into the further longitudinal opening under the head of an implant arranged in the further longitudinal opening.
- a longitudinal opening is present with a diameter corresponding to the largest commercially available diameter of the head (eg the ball head) of an implant, and by means of at least one provided sleeve on the smaller diameter of the head of another commercially available implant can be reduced.
- the invention therefore also relates to a device according to the invention, in which the secondary part comprises a body with a longitudinal opening, wherein the longitudinal opening is provided for receiving the head of an implant or wherein the longitudinal opening contains at least one sleeve and the sleeve has a further longitudinal opening, the is provided for receiving the head.
- the inner diameter or the inner dimensions of the further longitudinal opening preferably correspond approximately to the outer diameter or the Outside dimensions of the head of the implant, so that it can be guided in the further longitudinal opening and held firmly.
- the material of the sleeve may be selected to serve to damp a secondary part attached to a primary part, for example for damping a prosthetic restoration on a ball-and-socket implant.
- the provided by the sleeve damping stretch is preferably between 0.1 and 2 mm.
- the locking element further comprises an actuating element, by the rotation of the locking element is rotatable about the axis.
- an actuating element by the rotation of the locking element is rotatable about the axis.
- the actuator may be embodied as a wheel on which a user must rotate in order to generate a rotation of the locking element about the axis.
- the actuating element may, for example, also be in the form of two bead-shaped, opposing projections which are rotatable about the axis manually or by means of a tool.
- the invention furthermore relates to a tooth replacement part, the tooth replacement part comprising at least one device according to the invention for the releasable attachment of a tooth replacement to a primary part firmly seated in a mouth of a dental prosthesis support.
- the secondary part of the device according to the invention is connected to a dental prosthesis in order to detachably fasten the dental prosthesis to a primary part.
- the tooth replacement part according to the invention preferably has at least two, more preferably at least three, devices according to the invention for the detachable attachment of the dental prosthesis.
- the method according to the invention is preferably carried out using a device according to the invention for the releasable attachment of a dental prosthesis.
- the locking member is rotated about the axis for locking the locking element under the projection of the primary by rotating a locking portion having a semicircular diameter about the axis, thereby locking the locking portion under a head of an implant used as a primary part, in particular a ball-and-socket implant , is filmed.
- the unlocking then follows by a turning away of this locking portion of the projection, in particular of the head of the implant, so that a removal of the secondary part of the primary part in a direction opposite to the longitudinal direction is possible.
