Additional means may be provided for resisting pivotal movement of the fore part with relation to the heel part under the influence of blows or pressure upon the fore part, and to this end thesole member 12 of the fore part may be provided with a projection 30 which enters a socket 31 in the portion 82 of the front wall of the heel part below the point at which the fore part is hinged or pivoted to the heel part.

In the construction shown in Fig. 5, the fore part b is composed of one piece of non metallic material, such as wood, is pivoted at -lT to the heel part a, and has its upper surface curved downwardly toward the pivot pin 17 and is provided with a substantially vertical rear wall 25, which engages the substantially vertical frontwall 20 of the heel part.
