H. A. HAMILTON V v DISPLAY RECEPTACLE Filed Dec. 11, 1923 v I INVENTOR. g- Harry R. Hamiltun Patented Feb. 23, 1926.
UNITED STATES PATENT orrlce.
HARRY A. HAMILTON, OF ROCHESTER, NEW YORK, ASSIGNOR TO I-IICKOK MANUFAC- TUBING COMPANY, INC OF ROCHESTER, NEW YORK, A CORPORATION OF NEW YORK.
DISPLAY RECEPTACLE.
Application filed December 11, 1923. Serial No. 680,053.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, HARRY A. TIAMILTON, a citizen of the United States, and resident of Rochester, in the county of Monroe and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Display Receptacles, of which the following is a specification.
The present invention relates to display receptacles and more particularly to a display receptacle designed for displaying a belt, a belt buckle and a belt slide with an attached chain, an object of this invention being to provide a receptacle which will permit the mounting of the articles in a compact relation so that the articles may be readily viewed by a person without any handling.
To these and other ends, the invention consists of certain parts and combinations of parts, all of which will be hereinafter described: the novel features being pointed out in the appended claims.
In the drawings:
Fig. 1 is a plan view of a box portion of a display receptacle, showing a fragmentary portion of the cover; I
Fig. 2 is a plan view of the box portion of a receptacle with a belt, a buckle and a belt slide with chain attached arranged in display positions;
Fig. 3 is a section on the line 38, Fig. 1; and m Fig. 4 is a fragmentary sectional view on the line 4-4, Fig. 1.
Referring to the illustrated embodiment of the invention, 1 indicates the box-like structure and 2 the cover therefor. The box-like structure has rising from its bottom wall a standard 8, the sides of which are spaced from the sides of the box-like structure. On the standard a base 4 is arranged which is formed of sheet material and cu to provide near its rear side a tongue 5, which is adapted to be inserted within a buckle 6 for the purpose of holding the buckle to the base 4. The base 4 also has rising from it, within the edges thereof, a projection 7 lying in front of the tongue 5, and arranged so that when the buckle 6 is in position'on the tongue, this projection lies symmetrically with the buckle. Securing means is provided for the free end of the chain and also for the belt slide. This securing means, in this instance, is in the form of a covered piece of wire? which is passed through two openings 8 and 9 in. the base so that the central portion lies beneath the base and the ends project above the base, one end being secured in the snap fastener 10 of the chain 11, while the other end is passed through the belt slide and is anchored in the opening 12 of the base to secure the belt slide, the chain between the From the foregoing it will be seen that there has been provided a display receptacle for a belt, a belt buckle and a belt slide having a chain attached, these parts being positioned in compact form in the receptacle in such a manner that an effective display of the articles is maintained.
What I claimas my invention and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
1. The combination with a box member, a post rigid with and rising from the bottom of said structure in spaced relation to the sides thereof, a base member supported on the post in spaced relation to the bottom of the box and projecting beyond the sides of the latter, and means for securing a belt buckle tosaid base member.
2. A display receptacle for a belt, a buckle, and a belt slide with a chain attached comprising a box member having a post rigid with and rising from the bottom thereof in spaced relation to the sides thereof and about which the belt is wrapped, a base surmounting said post in spaced relation to the bottonr of the box, means for securing a belt buckle to the base, a projection 011 the base about which the chain of the belt slide is adapted to be passed, and means on the base for securing a belt slide at one end of the chain,
3. A display receptacle for a buckle, and of the projection, and means for securing a belt slide with a chain attached, comthe end of the belt slide chain to the base prising a horizontal base member, a projecat the other side of the projection, the pro- 0 tion rigid with and rising from the base jection being formed to permit the chain to 5 member, means for securing a buckle to the be passed about the same.
base at one side of the projection, means for securing a belt slide to the base at one side HARRY A. HAMILTON.
