rownnn AND ROUGE CONTAINER. I
' Application filed September 22, iezaiseriarueeeasssl To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, RALPH WVpNILSON, a citizen of the United States, residing at New York, inthe county of New York and State of New York, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Powder and Rouge Containers, of which the following is a specification. My invention relates to that class of van ity boxes which are designed to contain both powder and rouge, it being well known that a very much larger quantity of powder is used than rouge. It is therefore most desirable to provide these in different sizes.
Another very desirable and much sought after feature in pactness. V I 1 My invention has for its object to provide a container or vanity box which will fuifill all of the foregoing objects and has for its further object to produce a vanity case which will be very thin and consequently easily carried. i
My means of accomplishlng the foregoing may be more readily understood by having reference to the accompanying drawings in which:
cases of this hind'is com- Fig. l is a view of my improved vanity case having the cover open.
Fig. 2 is a side elevation of the same. Fig. 3 is a vertical sectional view; 7 .Fig. 4 is a view of the bottomof the rotating'bottom of the container. I
Fig. 5 is a bottom'view of the container with thecover shown in Fig. i removed.
Fig. 6 is a bottom view of the container with the rouge compartment closed. 7 Similar reference numerals refer to siini lar parts throughout the entire description. As shown in the drawings, vanity box comprises a powder container 10 in which is mounted a powder compact .ll'of 'the standard form in which the powder-isia com- ,1 pact rather than in the loose form. The."
container 10'is closed by acover 12 which maybe secured tothe container by means ofa hi e 13 or in any other suitable or conh venient manner. I V v V v A mirror 14: ismounted insidelof the cover.
.12 and a powder puff 15 is conveniently mounted intermediate the mirror. and the top of'the powder compact 11.
In the lower face'of the powder compact; 11 15 formed a circular recess 16 in which is mounted a rouge compact 1?. A separate F true 20 adapted to register with the recess 16 in which the rouge compact is mounted.
By rotating thls outer bottom 19, it is ap.
parent that the aperture 2.0 will be brought into register with the-recess 16 .thus making available the powder puff 1.8 and giving ac- .cess'to the rouge compact 17 mounted in the said recess. By mountingthe rouge in the j p powder compact, it is apparent that I am able to materially lessen thethickness of the vanity case and the container, which is a result greatlyto be desired-in devices of this character. i
Having described my invention what I co container '10 and is provided with an aperregard as new and desire'to secure by Letw ters Patent is 1. A powder container, a cover therefor, a mirror in said cover, a powder puff in saidcontamer, a powder compact in said con-- tainer, having a circular recess therein e i J! iormed 1n the bo tomthereoi, arouge com pact mounted in said recess, there belng an aperture in the bottom of the container, a double bottom' for said container, the outer an aperture therein adapted to register with, the rouge containlng recess.
2. A. powdercontainer, a cover therefor, a
mirror in said cover, aflpowder puffin said conta1ner,a powder compact in said contamer, a rouge compact mounted'ln the bottom of said powderconipact, airevolvable.
cover for said-rouge compact.
, BJA powder 'container,a cover therefor, a
mirror in said cover, a powder pufl' in said st, one being revolvably mounted and having,
container, apowder compact insaid con-1 tainer, a rouge compact mountedin thebot-i tom of said powder compact, a' revolvable --cover for, said rougecompact, sald .co.v'er;
sing the. outer portionof a doublebottom.
v is testimony"whereofl have signed the foregoing specification.-
