The invention relates new and useful improvements in a cosmetic container,
An ob ect of the lnvention is to provide ,a cosmetic container which can be made very cheaply for emergency use, andwherein provision is made for a soft coherent cosmetic, as well as for pufls impregnated with a powder cosmetics p A further object of the invention is to provide a cosmetic container of the above type wherein the soft coherent cosmetic is covered and shielded, and wherein the pufl's rendered easily accessible.
In thedrawing which shows by way of illustration one embodiment of the invention Figure 1 is a front view of a cosmetic container with the cover raised,- showing the inner structure and contents of the'con- 'tainer;;'
Fig. 2 is a vertical sectional view through the containershownin Fig. 1;
Fig. 3 is a face view of a ortion, of the showing the receptacle for the soft coherent cosmetic; Fi 4 is a sectional view on the line 4-4 of Flg. 3, and
' The invention consists of a cosmetic con-- tainer which includes a wrapper which is preferably made of paper. Attached to the er'ably of paper. The lower part. '0 the wrapperis folded about the lower ends of the partitions, and a securing means is assed through the wrapper and partitions or holding said arts in fixed relation to each other. Attac ed tothe inner face of the wrapper directly in rear of and op 0- site the rear partition is a member pre erably annular in shape, and forming a rece table for "the soft coherent cosmetic; F1 rous powder puffs, preferably diskshaped, and impregnated with a powder cosmetic, are adapted to be placed in the ockets formed between the artitions.
epartitions are of difierent eights so pregnatcd with powder cosmetic are is impregnated with powder coswrapper are three partitions, likewise ref--.
that these powder puffs, when two or more are used, may be rendered readily accessible. The wrapper folds down over the artitions and the lower end thereof may e tucked underneath the folded back portion of the.
wrapper for holding the same in place, thus forming a compact container.
Referring more in detail to the drawing,
the invention asillustrated is embodied in a container which consists of a wrapper 1. This wrapper is preferably made of paper. Associated with the wrapper are a series of partitions. As illustrated, there are three partitions, a rear partition 2, a front partition 3, and an intermediate partition 4. The wrap er 1 is folded back as indicated at 5, and t us encloses the lower ends of the three partitions. A securing means, preferably in the form of a staple 6, is passed through the wrapper, firmly clamping the folded back portion of the wrapper and the partitions against the rear portion .of the wrapper. These partitions, as clearly shown the drawing, are of different hei hts. The front partition is the lowest an the rear partition is the highest. Attached to the i inner face of the wrapper is an annular member 7 preferably of asteboard, which has some considerable thic ess,'and this forms. a receptacle 8 in which a soft coherent cosmetic may be laced. The cosmetic placed in this receptac e is of the character usually referred to as a lip stick cosmetic. Between the partitions 2 and 4 is a pocket in which is placed a powder puff 9 made of any suitable felted or fibrous material, and this powder ufi is shown disk-shaped. The powder pu is impregnated with a powder cosmetic. Between the partitions 3 and 4; is a pocket adapted tojreceive a similar powder puff 10 which'is likewise impregnated with a powder cosmetic. Any number ,of partitions may be rovided, and any number of powder uflg may be stored in the pockets thus ormed, so that powder pufis having different colored cosmetics may be stored within the container.
-The staple 6 is passed through a wrapper at a short distance beneath the edge 11" of the folded back portion 5. The upper portionof the wrapper may be readily folded puffs impregnated with a powder cosmetic, to the broken line position shown-in Fig. 2, said wrapper having a fla for covering and the end thereof inserted between the the partitions and closing t epockets, and up or edge ortion 11 and the partition 3. a receptacle within the wrapper for a soft W en force in between these parts, it will coherent cosmetic. be firmly clamped. In testimony whereof, I afiix my signature. From the above it will be apparent that I MARIE K. SLEZAK. have provided a container for cosmetics which may be cheaply made, and is, there- I fore, particularly advantageous'as an emer- 1' gency cosmetic compact. These small containers may be readily stored-and delivered from vending machine, as well as sold over the counter. p 15 It is obvious that minor changes in the de-' u tailsof construction and the shaping of .the
parts may be made without departing from the spirit of the invention as set forth in the appended claims. v a 2 Having thus described the invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters-Patent is, 1 1. A container for cosmetics comprising a wrapper having partitions providing sepaa rate pockets, an apertured membersecured to the inner face of the wrapper opposite a) partition and providing a receptacle for a soft coherent cosmetic, said pockets being adapted to receive removable pufi's impreg- 8 nated with a powder cosmetic. a 2. A container for cosmetics comprising a wrapper having partitions providing separate pockets, an apertured member secured to the inner face of the wrapper opposite a 35 partition and providin a receptacle forasoft coherent cosmetic, sai pockets being adapted to receive removable pufi's impregnated with a powder cosmetic, said wrapper and I partition being formed of paper, and the 40 wrapper bein folded about. the lower edge V portions of t e partition and secured by staplin the upper portion of said wrapper being oldable over the partition and pufl's v for covering the same; a 5 3. A container for cosmetics comprising a I wrapper having partitions providing separate pockets, an apertured member secured to the inner face of the wrapper opposite a partition and providing a receptacle for a 50 soft coherent cosmetic, said pockets beingadapted to receive removable pufi's impregnated with apowder cosmetic, said wrapper and partition being formed of paper, and
the wrapper being folded about the lower edge portions of the partition and secured by stapling, the upper portion of said wrapa per being foldable over the'partition, and
ufi's for covering the same, said partitions .eing of different heights so asto expose and p render accessible the powder pufi placed in the pocket between the partitions. 1
4. A container for cosmetics comprising a wrapper, flexible partitions rigidly connected to said wrapper and forming therebe- 6 tween pockets adapted to receive removable 180
