Be it known that I, JOHN C. HUB, Jr., a citizen of the United States, residing at Cleveland, in the county .of Cuyahoga and State of Ohio, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Tabbed-Sheet Structures, of which the following is a speciication.

This invention relates generally to tabbed sheets and particularly to that class of such devices wherein a sheet is provided with an integral tab portion and a covering tab structme inclosing a Celluloid guide for an insert.

More specifically the invention relates to a tabbed sheet or card comprising a sheet or card having an integral tab together ywith a Celluloid tab covering comprising an outer casing folded over the integral sheet tab and the parts of the adjacent sheet, and inclosing a guiding strip of Celluloid which lfurnishes upper and lower guides for an insert.

In the modification shown, an extra backing plate of Celluloid is provided in the back of the guide strip to form a complete celluloid insert pocket at the front.

The invention may be further briefly summarized as consisting in the construction and combination! of parts hereinafter set :forth in the following description, drawings and claims.

Referring to the drawings, Figure l is a front elevation showing a'portion of a Card provided with the features of the invention; Fig. 2 is a section upon the line 2-2 of Fig. 1 looking in the direction of the arrows; Fig. 3 is a section upon'the line 3-3 of Fig. l looking in the direction of the arrows; Fig. 4 is a front elevation of a sheet or card provided with a modified form of tab structure with parts broken away; Fig. 5 is a section on the line 5-5 of Fig. 4; and

`Fig. 6 is a section upon the line 6-6 of Fig. 4.

In carrying out the invention, the card l is provided with a tab 2 integral with the` card and extending beyond the tab edge7 and below this tab and in the body of the card it Specication of Letters Patent.

is provided with openings 3 for a purpose to be described. Engaging the tab 2 and extending onto the body of the Card over the openings 3 is a tab casing structure comprising an outer casing 4 of Celluloid folded over the Card and the tab as well as over the body portion of the card onto the openings 3. Within this Casing on the front side of the tab, is a guide stri 5 of Celluloid extending from one end o the tab to the other and having a recess 6 therein extending out at one end of the tab thereby providing an elongated opening or pocket for receiving and guiding an insert.

Before these parts are amalgamated to the card, suitable Celluloid disks 7 are arranged in the openings 3 and when the parts are arranged upon the card and treated with solu tion and heat, a bondy is produced between secured in place.

In the modification shown in Figs. 4, 5 and 6, an extra strip or plate 8 of Celluloid is provided between the guide strip 5 and the Card tab 2 so as to form a Complete celluloid pocket for the insert.

In either of the arrangements shown, the entire tab structure is notched or Cut away at 9 to leave the insert exposed for` the removal of the same.

Having described my invention,I claim:-

l 1. In a tabbed sheet structure, a sheet having a tab extending from the tab edge, and a Celluloid casing and guide comprising a cover extending over thel tab and the adjacent parts of the sheet, and an insert guide arranged between the Cover and the tab of the sheet.

said recess opening out at one end of the up, and autism of Celluloid arranged between the guide strip and the tab of the Card.
