Abstract

A side-mounted container suitable for installed on a motorcycle is provided. The side-mounted container includes a container body, a cover, a wedging member, an outer decorative sheet, and a lock member. The container body includes a receiving space and a first outer surface. A recessed structure is formed on the first outer surface. The cover is adapted to cover the receiving space. The wedging member is disposed on the cover. The outer decorative sheet covers the first outer surface, wherein the outer decorative sheet covers at least a portion of the recessed structure, and the outer decorative sheet includes an opening. The lock member is disposed on the outer decorative sheet, wherein the lock member partially passes through the opening of the outer decorative sheet and enters the recessed structure, and when the cover covers the receiving space, the lock member is adapted to engage the wedging member.

Description

Side storage box

This invention relates to a side storage box, and in particular to a side storage box installed on a motorcycle.

The known side storage box has a box body, a box cover and a lock. The box cover is connected to the box body in a rotatable manner. The lock is arranged on the box cover to lock the box cover on the box body. In the known technology, rainwater easily penetrates into the box body from the assembly hole of the lock and the lock hole (key insertion hole), causing damage to the items in the box body.

In addition, in the prior art, the lock head and the storage space in the box are not separated. When the lock head is actuated, it may interfere with the items in the storage space, causing damage to the items or the lock head. There is also the problem that the lubricating grease on the lock head may contaminate the items in the box.

The embodiment of the present invention is to provide a side storage box for solving the problem of the prior art, which is suitable for being arranged on a motorcycle. The side storage box includes a box body, a box cover, a fastener, an exterior cover and a lock. The box body includes a receiving groove and a first outer surface, wherein a recessed structure is formed on the first outer surface. The box cover is suitable for covering the receiving groove. The fastener is arranged on the box cover. The exterior cover covers the first outer surface, wherein the exterior cover covers at least a portion of the recessed structure, and the exterior cover includes an exterior cover opening. The lock head is arranged on the exterior cover, wherein the lock head at least partially passes through the opening of the exterior cover and enters into the recessed structure. When the box cover covers the accommodating groove, the lock head is suitable for engaging the fastening member.

In one embodiment, the side storage box further includes a seat ring, wherein the seat ring is connected to the upper edge of the box body, the seat ring covers at least a portion of the accommodating groove, and the box cover is hinged to the seat ring.

In one embodiment, the seat ring includes a first seat ring opening and a second seat ring opening, the first seat ring opening corresponds to the accommodating groove, and the second seat ring opening corresponds to the recessed structure.

In one embodiment, the seat ring includes a waterproof strip, which surrounds at least a portion of the first seat ring opening, and at least a portion of the waterproof strip is located between the first seat ring opening and the second seat ring opening.

In one embodiment, the seat ring covers at least a portion of the recessed structure, and the fastener is adapted to pass through the second seat ring opening and enter into the recessed structure.

In one embodiment, the seat ring further includes an upper annular rib surrounding the first seat ring opening and the second seat ring opening.

In one embodiment, the seat ring further includes a lower stop rib, the lower stop rib abuts against the inner edge of the receiving groove, and the lower stop rib separates the receiving groove and the recessed structure.

In one embodiment, the side storage box further includes an elastic fastener, wherein the elastic fastener is connected to the lock head, and the elastic fastener is disposed between the outer cover and the box body to fix the lock head.

In one embodiment, the box further includes a second outer surface, the first outer surface faces the front direction of the motorcycle, and the second outer surface faces away from the side of the motorcycle. The outer cover covers at least a portion of the first outer surface and at least a portion of the second outer surface. The box includes a box abutment portion, which extends from the first outer surface to the second outer surface, and the lower edge of the outer cover abuts the box abutment portion.

In one embodiment, the box body includes a box body flange, which is arranged at the upper edge of the box body. The recessed structure includes an upper opening and a side opening. The upper opening corresponds to the second seat ring opening, and the side opening corresponds to the outer cover opening. The box body flange extends between the upper opening and the side opening.

In the embodiment of the invention, the recessed structure is formed on the first outer surface, and the lock head at least partially passes through the opening of the outer cover and enters the recessed structure. Therefore, rainwater infiltration can only reach the recessed structure and is blocked by the recessed structure. In other words, the infiltrated rainwater is difficult to reach the receiving groove for receiving items. The items in the receiving groove can therefore be protected without being damaged or contaminated.

Referring to FIG. 1 , it shows the appearance of a motorcycle M of the present invention, including a side storage box B, a faucet 91, a front wheel 92, a rear wheel 93, a seat 94, a power system 95 and other components.

The motorcycle M includes a front section, a middle section, and a rear section. The front section of the motorcycle M is provided with components such as a faucet 91, a front wheel 92, a turn signal light, and a key hole. The middle section of the motorcycle M is provided with components such as a power system 95, a seat cushion 94, and a footrest. The rear section of the motorcycle M is provided with components such as a tail light, a rear wheel 93, and a fender.

The faucet 91 is used to control the direction of the motorcycle M. Functional parts may be installed on the faucet 91, including units such as instruments, switches, and rearview mirrors. The faucet 91 also has handles (including a refueling handle) and a handbrake. The user can control the direction of the faucet 91 through the handles, adjust the throttle angle of the power system 95 through the refueling handle to control the power output, and decelerate the motorcycle M through the handbrake. The faucet 91 may also be equipped with a main light, which provides the main lighting for the motorcycle M.

The faucet 91 and the front wheel 92 are connected via a faucet rotating shaft, so that the angle of the front wheel 92 can be controlled by rotating the faucet 91, thereby controlling the direction of travel of the motorcycle M.

The power system 95 is connected to and drives the rear wheel 93, thereby providing power to the motorcycle M and making the motorcycle M move forward.

Figure 2 is an exploded view of the side storage box of the present invention. Figure 3A is a partial structure of the side storage box of the present invention, wherein the lock has not yet been installed. Figure 3B is a partial structure of the side storage box of the present invention, wherein the lock is installed. With reference to Figures 1, 2, 3A and 3B, the side storage box B of the present invention is suitable for being arranged on a motorcycle M. The side storage box B includes a box body 1, a box cover 2, a fastener 31, an exterior cover 4 and a lock 32. The box body 1 includes a receiving groove 13 and a first outer surface 11, wherein a recessed structure 14 is formed on the first outer surface 11. The box cover 2 is suitable for covering the receiving groove 13. The fastening member 31 is disposed on the box cover 2. The exterior cover 4 covers the first outer surface 11, wherein the exterior cover 4 covers at least a portion of the recessed structure 14, and the exterior cover 4 includes an exterior cover opening 41. The lock head 32 is disposed on the exterior cover 4, wherein the lock head 32 at least partially passes through the exterior cover opening 41 and enters the recessed structure 14, and when the box cover 2 covers the receiving groove 13, the lock head 32 is suitable for engaging the fastening member 31. The receiving groove 13 is used to accommodate items.

FIG. 4 shows the detailed structure of the seat ring of the present invention. With reference to FIGS. 2, 3A, 3B and 4, in one embodiment, the side storage box B further includes a seat ring 5, wherein the seat ring 5 is connected to the upper edge of the box body 1, the seat ring 5 covers at least a portion of the receiving groove 13, and the box cover 2 is connected to the seat ring 5.

With reference to FIGS. 2 , 3A, 3B and 4 , in one embodiment, the seat ring 5 includes a first seat ring opening 51 and a second seat ring opening 52 , the first seat ring opening 51 corresponds to the receiving groove 13 , and the second seat ring opening 52 corresponds to the recessed structure 14 .

3A and 3B, in one embodiment, the seat ring 5 includes a waterproof strip 53, which surrounds at least a portion of the first seat ring opening 51, and at least a portion of the waterproof strip 53 is located between the first seat ring opening 51 and the second seat ring opening 52. The waterproof strip 53 provides a waterproof effect to prevent water from entering the accommodating groove.

3A and 3B , in one embodiment, the seat ring 5 covers at least a portion of the recessed structure 14 , and the fastener (not shown) is adapted to pass through the second seat ring opening 52 and enter into the recessed structure 14 .

3A and 3B, in one embodiment, the seat ring 5 further includes an upper annular rib 54, and the upper annular rib 54 surrounds the first seat ring opening 51 and the second seat ring opening 52. The upper annular rib 54 provides a waterproof and dustproof effect.

FIG. 5 is a partial cross-sectional schematic diagram of the side storage box of the present invention. In one embodiment, the seat ring 5 further includes a lower stop rib 55, the lower stop rib 55 abuts against the inner edge of the receiving groove 13, and the lower stop rib 55 separates the receiving groove 13 and the recessed structure 14. The lower stop rib 55 provides a waterproof and dustproof effect.

FIG. 6A shows the lock and elastic fastener of the present invention. With reference to FIG. 5 and FIG. 6A, in one embodiment, the side storage box further includes an elastic fastener 33, wherein the elastic fastener 33 is connected to the lock 32, and the elastic fastener 33 is disposed between the outer cover 4 and the box body 1 to fix the lock.

FIG. 6B shows the lock of the present invention in an embodiment. With reference to FIG. 2, 6A, and 6B, in one embodiment, the lock 32 includes a latch portion 321, which is suitable for latching the latch 31 to limit the rotation of the box cover 2.

FIG. 7A shows the detailed structure of the box of the present invention. FIG. 7B shows the detailed structure of the outer cover of the present invention. With reference to FIGS. 5, 7A, and 7B, in one embodiment, the box 1 further includes a second outer surface 12, the first outer surface 11 faces the front direction of the motorcycle, and the second outer surface 12 faces away from the side of the motorcycle. The outer cover 4 covers at least part of the first outer surface 11 and at least part of the second outer surface 12. The box 1 includes a box abutment portion 15, which extends from the first outer surface 11 to the second outer surface 12, and the lower edge 42 of the outer cover 4 abuts against the box abutment portion 15. In this way, water can be prevented from entering the recessed structure 14.

With reference to FIGS. 2, 4, and 7A, in one embodiment, the box body 1 includes a box body flange 16, which is disposed at the upper edge of the box body 1. The recessed structure 14 includes an upper opening 141 and a side opening 142. The upper opening 141 corresponds to the second seat ring opening 52, and the side opening 142 corresponds to the exterior cover opening 41. The box body flange 16 extends between the upper opening 141 and the side opening 142.

In the embodiment of the invention, the recessed structure is formed on the first outer surface, and the lock head at least partially passes through the opening of the outer cover and enters the recessed structure. Therefore, rainwater infiltration can only reach the recessed structure and is blocked by the recessed structure. In other words, the infiltrated rainwater is difficult to reach the receiving groove for receiving items. The items in the receiving groove can therefore be protected without being damaged or contaminated.

In the embodiments of the present invention, the motorcycle defined in the present invention may include a fuel motorcycle, an electric motorcycle or other motor vehicles.

Although the present invention has been disclosed as above with specific preferred embodiments, it is not intended to limit the present invention. Anyone familiar with this technology can make slight changes and modifications without departing from the spirit and scope of the present invention. Therefore, the scope of protection of the present invention shall be subject to the scope defined in the attached patent application.

Claims (10)

A side storage box, suitable for being arranged on a motorcycle, comprises: a box body, comprising a receiving groove and a first outer surface, wherein a recessed structure is formed on the first outer surface; a box cover, suitable for covering the receiving groove; a fastening member, arranged on the box cover; an outer cover, covering the first outer surface, wherein the outer cover covers at least part of the recessed structure, and the outer cover comprises an outer cover opening; and a lock head, arranged on the outer cover, wherein the lock head at least partially passes through the outer cover opening and enters into the recessed structure, and when the box cover covers the receiving groove, the lock head is suitable for engaging the fastening member. The side storage box as described in claim 1 further includes a seat ring, wherein the seat ring is connected to the upper edge of the box body, the seat ring covers at least a portion of the accommodating groove, and the box cover is hinged to the seat ring. A side storage box as described in claim 2, wherein the seat ring includes a first seat ring opening and a second seat ring opening, the first seat ring opening corresponds to the accommodating groove, and the second seat ring opening corresponds to the recessed structure. A side storage box as described in claim 3, wherein the seat ring includes a waterproof strip, which surrounds at least a portion of the first seat ring opening, and at least a portion of the waterproof strip is located between the first seat ring opening and the second seat ring opening. A side storage box as described in claim 3, wherein the seat ring covers at least a portion of the recessed structure, and the fastener is suitable for passing through the second seat ring opening and entering the recessed structure. A side storage box as described in claim 3, wherein the seat ring further includes an upper annular rib, and the upper annular rib surrounds the first seat ring opening and the second seat ring opening. A side storage box as described in claim 6, wherein the seat ring further includes a lower stop rib, the lower stop rib abuts against the inner edge of the accommodating groove, and the lower stop rib separates the accommodating groove and the recessed structure. The side storage box as described in claim 3 further includes an elastic fastener, wherein the elastic fastener is connected to the lock head, and the elastic fastener is arranged between the outer cover and the box body to fix the lock head. A side storage box as described in claim 3, wherein the box body further includes a second outer surface, the first outer surface faces the front direction of the motorcycle, and the second outer surface faces away from the side of the motorcycle, the outer cover covers at least a portion of the first outer surface and at least a portion of the second outer surface, and the box body includes a box body abutment portion, which extends from the first outer surface to the second outer surface, and the lower edge of the outer cover abuts the box body abutment portion. A side storage box as described in claim 3, wherein the box body includes a box body flange, the box body flange is arranged on the upper edge of the box body, the recessed structure includes an upper opening and a side opening, the upper opening corresponds to the second seat ring opening, the side opening corresponds to the exterior cover opening, and the box body flange extends between the upper opening and the side opening.
