Abstract

A side-mounted container suitable for installation on a motorcycle is provided. The side-mounted container comprises a box body and a cover. The box body includes a receiving space and a curved extension. The curved extension includes a curved surface. The curved surface extends toward the front of the motorcycle from a position closer to the receiving space, and gradually approaches a frame of the motorcycle. The cover is adapted to cover the box body.

Description

Motorcycle and side storage box

This invention relates to a side storage box, and in particular to a side storage box used in a motorcycle.

Conventional side storage boxes are installed on the side of a motorcycle to provide additional storage space. However, the side storage boxes increase wind resistance, which increases the fuel consumption of the motorcycle. In addition, when the pillion passengers are sitting, their legs will directly contact the outer surface of the side storage box. Based on the considerations of capacity and appearance, the appearance of the side storage box may cause pressure on the legs of the pillion passengers, causing discomfort.

The present invention provides a side storage box for solving the problem of the prior art, which is suitable for being installed on a motorcycle. The side storage box includes a box body and a flip cover. The box body includes a receiving groove and a curved extension portion, and the curved extension portion includes a curved surface, which extends from a position closer to the receiving groove to a front position of the motorcycle and gradually approaches a frame of the motorcycle. The flip cover is suitable for covering the box body.

In one embodiment, the box includes a box body and an outer decorative cover, the outer decorative cover is connected to the box body, the curved extension is formed on the outer decorative cover, and the accommodating groove is formed in the box body.

In one embodiment, the box body includes a first outer surface and a second outer surface, the first outer surface faces the front of the motorcycle, and the second outer surface faces away from the side of the motorcycle, and the outer cover covers at least part of the first outer surface and at least part of the second outer surface.

In one embodiment, the side storage box further includes a lock, wherein the exterior cover includes a mounting hole, and the lock is disposed in the mounting hole.

In one embodiment, the box body further includes a mounting groove, the mounting groove corresponds to the mounting hole, the lock head partially extends into the mounting groove, and the mounting groove is formed on the first outer surface.

In one embodiment, the box body further includes a body extension portion, the body extension portion is connected to the first outer surface, and the body extension portion is correspondingly connected to the curved extension portion.

In one embodiment, the side storage box further includes a locking accessory, wherein the locking accessory is locked to the main body extension and the curved extension.

In one embodiment, the side storage box further includes a waterproof seat, wherein the waterproof seat is connected to the box body, and the flip cover is rotatably connected to the waterproof seat.

In another embodiment, the invention provides a motorcycle. The motorcycle includes a frame, a side storage box and a side step. The side storage box includes a box body and a flip cover. The box body includes a receiving slot and a curved extension portion, the curved extension portion includes a curved surface, the curved surface extends from a position closer to the receiving slot to a front position of the motorcycle and gradually approaches the frame of the motorcycle. The flip cover is suitable for covering the box body. In a horizontal direction, the curved extension portion is located behind the side step.

In one embodiment, the motorcycle further comprises a trunk, wherein the side storage box partially overlaps with the trunk in a vertical direction.

The side storage box of the present invention can reduce the fuel consumption of the motorcycle because the curved surface of the curved extension can reduce wind resistance. In addition, when the rear passengers are sitting, their legs can directly lean against the curved surface of the curved extension, which improves the comfort of the rear passengers.

Referring to FIG. 1 , it shows the appearance of a motorcycle M of the present invention, including a side storage box B, a faucet 91, a front wheel 92, a rear wheel 93, a seat 94, a power system 95 and other components.

The motorcycle M includes a front section, a middle section, and a rear section. The front section of the motorcycle M is provided with components such as a faucet 91, a front wheel 92, a turn signal light, and a key hole. The middle section of the motorcycle M is provided with components such as a power system 95, a seat cushion 94, and a footrest. The rear section of the motorcycle M is provided with components such as a tail light, a rear wheel 93, and a fender.

The faucet 91 is used to control the direction of the motorcycle M. Functional parts may be installed on the faucet 91, including units such as instruments, switches, and rearview mirrors. The faucet 91 also has handles (including a refueling handle) and a handbrake. The user can control the direction of the faucet 91 through the handles, adjust the throttle angle of the power system 95 through the refueling handle to control the power output, and decelerate the motorcycle M through the handbrake. The faucet 91 may also be equipped with a main light, which provides the main lighting for the motorcycle M.

The faucet 91 and the front wheel 92 are connected via a faucet rotating shaft, so that the angle of the front wheel 92 can be controlled by rotating the faucet 91, thereby controlling the direction of travel of the motorcycle M.

The power system 95 is connected to and drives the rear wheel 93, thereby providing power to the motorcycle M and making the motorcycle M move forward.

FIG. 2 is a three-dimensional diagram showing the side storage box of the embodiment of the present invention. FIG. 3 is an exploded diagram showing the side storage box of the embodiment of the present invention. With reference to FIGS. 1, 2 and 3, the side storage box B of the embodiment of the present invention is suitable for being installed on the motorcycle M. The side storage box B includes a box body 1 and a flip cover 2. The box body 1 includes a receiving groove 113 and a curved extension portion 121, and the curved extension portion 121 includes a curved surface 122, and the curved surface 122 extends from a position closer to the receiving groove 113 to the front position of the motorcycle M and gradually approaches a frame (not shown) of the motorcycle M. The flip cover 2 is suitable for covering the box body 1. In one embodiment, the cross-section of the curved surface 122 is arc-shaped, and the above disclosure does not limit the present invention.

With reference to FIGS. 2 and 3 , in one embodiment, the box 1 includes a box body 11 and an outer cover 12, the outer cover 12 is connected to the box body 11, the curved extension 121 is formed on the outer cover 12, and the receiving groove 113 is formed in the box body 11. The above disclosure does not limit the invention, for example, in another embodiment, the outer cover may be omitted, and the curved extension is directly formed on the box body.

FIG. 4 shows the detailed structure of the box body and the outer cover of the present invention. With reference to FIGS. 1 and 4, in one embodiment, the box body 11 includes a first outer surface 111 and a second outer surface 112, the first outer surface 111 faces the front direction of the motorcycle M, and the second outer surface 112 faces away from the side of the motorcycle, and the outer cover 12 covers at least part of the first outer surface 111 and at least part of the second outer surface 112.

With reference to FIGS. 3 and 4 , in one embodiment, the side storage box further includes a lock 31 , wherein the exterior cover 12 includes a mounting hole 124 , and the lock 31 is disposed in the mounting hole 124 .

With reference to FIGS. 3 and 4 , in one embodiment, the box body 11 further includes a mounting groove 114 , the mounting groove 114 corresponds to the mounting hole 124 , the lock head 31 partially extends into the mounting groove 114 , and the mounting groove 114 is formed on the first outer surface 111 .

Referring to FIG. 4 , in one embodiment, the box body 11 further includes a body extension portion 115 , wherein the body extension portion 115 is connected to the first outer surface 111 , and the body extension portion 115 is correspondingly connected to the curved extension portion 121 .

4 , in one embodiment, the side storage box B further includes a lock accessory 32 , wherein the lock accessory 32 is lockably connected to the main body extension portion 115 and the curved extension portion 121 .

3 , in one embodiment, the side storage box B further includes a waterproof seat 4, wherein the waterproof seat 4 is connected to the box body 11, and the flip cover 2 is rotatably connected to the waterproof seat 4.

1 , in one embodiment, the motorcycle M includes a frame (not shown), a side storage box B, and a side pedal 96. In a horizontal direction X, the curved extension 121 is located behind the side pedal 96.

1 , in one embodiment, the motorcycle M further includes a trunk 97, wherein in a vertical direction Z, the side storage box B partially overlaps with the trunk 97.

FIG. 5 shows the use of the side storage box of the present invention. With reference to FIG. 1 and FIG. 5, when the rear passenger P2 is sitting, the legs of the rear passenger P2 can directly lean against the curved surface 122 of the curved extension 121, thereby improving the comfort of the rear passenger P2.

The side storage box of the present invention can reduce the fuel consumption of the motorcycle because the curved surface of the curved extension can reduce wind resistance. In addition, when the rear passengers are sitting, their legs can directly lean against the curved surface of the curved extension, which improves the comfort of the rear passengers.

In the embodiments of the present invention, the motorcycle defined in the present invention may include a fuel motorcycle, an electric motorcycle or other motor vehicles.

Although the present invention has been disclosed as above with specific preferred embodiments, it is not intended to limit the present invention. Anyone familiar with this technology can make slight changes and modifications without departing from the spirit and scope of the present invention. Therefore, the scope of protection of the present invention shall be subject to the scope defined in the attached patent application.

Claims (10)

A side storage box suitable for being installed on a motorcycle, comprising: a box body including a receiving groove and a curved extension portion, the curved extension portion including a curved surface, the curved surface extending from a position closer to the receiving groove to a position in front of the motorcycle and gradually approaching a frame of the motorcycle; and a flap suitable for covering the box body. A side storage box as described in claim 1, wherein the box body includes a box body and an outer decorative cover, the outer decorative cover is connected to the box body, the curved extension portion is formed on the outer decorative cover, and the accommodating groove is formed in the box body. A side storage box as described in claim 2, wherein the box body includes a first outer surface and a second outer surface, the first outer surface faces the front of the motorcycle, and the second outer surface faces away from the side of the motorcycle, and the outer cover covers at least a portion of the first outer surface and at least a portion of the second outer surface. The side storage box as described in claim 3 further includes a lock, wherein the exterior cover includes a mounting hole and the lock is disposed in the mounting hole. A side storage box as described in claim 4, wherein the box body further includes a mounting groove, the mounting groove corresponds to the mounting hole, the lock head partially extends into the mounting groove, and the mounting groove is formed on the first outer surface. A side storage box as described in claim 4, wherein the box body further includes a body extension portion, the body extension portion is connected to the first outer surface, and the body extension portion is correspondingly connected to the curved extension portion. The side storage box as described in claim 6 further includes a locking accessory, wherein the locking accessory is locked to the main body extension and the curved extension. The side storage box as described in claim 3 further includes a waterproof seat, wherein the waterproof seat is connected to the box body, and the flip cover is rotatably connected to the waterproof seat. A motorcycle comprises: a frame; a side storage box comprising: a box body comprising a receiving slot and a curved extension, the curved extension comprising a curved surface, the curved surface extending from a position closer to the receiving slot to a position in front of the motorcycle and gradually approaching the frame of the motorcycle; and a flap suitable for covering the box body; and a side pedal, wherein in a horizontal direction, the curved extension is located behind the side pedal. The motorcycle as described in claim 9 further includes a trunk, wherein the side storage box and the trunk partially overlap in a vertical direction.
