Description

本発明は、環形蛍光ランプに関するものである。
従来の環形蛍光ランプ１１は、環状の蛍光管２の両端部に跨って口金１２が設けられている。一般的な環形蛍光ランプの蛍光管２は、環状に湾曲した丸型形状を有しており、この蛍光管２の両端に跨って設けられる口金１２としては図４に示すように、２つの口金部材１３，１４が、蛍光管２の両端部を挟むように位置させ嵌合し構成されている。２つの口金部材１３，１４としては、電力供給用ピンを有する半円筒状の第一口金部材１３と、この第一口金部材１３に嵌合される半円筒状の第二口金部材１４とからなる。また、環形蛍光ランプとして外観的に環形を形作るために、口金１２の形状も蛍光管２のなす曲線に合わせ、わずかな湾曲形状を有している。
口金１２の内面すなわち第一口金部材１３および第二口金部材１４のいずれかの内面には、突起（図示せず）を設け、この突起を蛍光管２の両端部外周に形成された窪み部（図示せず）に挿入し、口金１２が所定角度以上回転しないようにすることが知られている（特許文献１参照）。

口金１２が回転する角度は、口金１２内のリード線や器具への取り付け時の裕度を配慮した上適宜設定される。しかしながら、環形蛍光ランプ１１を器具に取り付ける際、製作者の想定外の向きで使用者が取り付けを行った場合、口金１２は所定の回転角度を逸脱して回転されてしまうため、図５に示すように、第一口金部材１３あるいは第二口金部材１４の角部７を含む周辺部分が浮き上がってしまい尖った角部７で指等を傷つける等の問題が生じることが新たにわかった。特に口金１２内面に上述の突起が設けられている場合は、この突起が角部７部分を一層押し上げることとなり、角部７の浮き上がり高さが突起の無いものと比して突起の高さ分、一層高くなる。なお、角部７とは、第一口金部材１３と第二口金部材１４とが嵌合した場合において、それぞれ当接し合う面１２ａ，１３ａとこの当接し合う面１２ａ，１３ａに対して直交する方向の面１２ｂ，１３ｂとからなる角の部分を示す。
本発明は、口金が所定角度以上、回転することによって口金の角部が浮かび上がっても、浮かび上がった箇所で指等を傷つけることのない安全性を高めた環形蛍光ランプを提供するものである。
本発明の環形蛍光ランプは、両端部に跨って設けられた口金を有する環形蛍光ランプにおいて、前記口金は電力供給用ピンを有する半円筒状である第一口金部材と、この第一口金部材に嵌合される半円筒状である第二口金部材とからなり、前記第一口金部材および前記第二口金部材の角部が丸み部若しくは傾斜部を有している。
これにより、口金が所定角度以上、回転することによって口金の角部が浮かび上がっても、浮かび上がった箇所で指等を傷つけることのない安全性を高めた環形蛍光ランプを提供することができる。
図１および図２に示す本発明の第一の実施形態に係る環形蛍光ランプは、定格ランプ電力が２８Ｗの環形蛍光ランプ１であって、内部には水銀を供給するための粒状のアマルガム粒と、希ガスとしてのアルゴンガスとが封入されている。蛍光ランプ１は、環形の蛍光管２と口金３とを備えており、蛍光管２の内面には、保護膜と蛍光体層とが順次積層（図示せず）されている。
蛍光管２は、ソーダ石灰ガラス製であって、管外径が２９ｍｍ、肉厚が１ｍｍ、管軸方向の長さが５４０ｍｍである。蛍光管２の両端部内面には、電極（図示せず）が配置されているとともに、両端部を覆い、かつ両端部を跨いで口金３が取り付けられている。
口金３は半円筒形状の口金構成部品、すなわち、第一口金部材４および第二口金部材５からなる。第一口金部材４には４本の電力供給用のピン６が立設されている。口金３は、ポリブチレンテレフタレート（ＰＢＴ）等の樹脂からなる。なお、口金３の内面には口金３の回転角度を規制するための突起（図示せず）が設けられており、この突起が蛍光管２の端部に設けられた窪み部（図示せず）に挿入されて口金３の所定角度以上の回転を抑制している。
第一口金部材４および第二口金部材５の角部７はそれぞれ丸み部８，９を有している。これにより、口金３が所定角度以上、使用者によって回転され口金３の角部７が浮かび上がっても、浮かび上がった角部７が丸み部８，９を有しているので、指などを傷つけることを防止できる。
なお、本実施形態においては、角部７に半径０．５ｍｍの丸み部８，９を設けたが、図３に示すように、角部７を、第一口金部材４および第二口金部材５の当接し合う面４ａ，５ａとこの当接し合う面４ａ，５ａに対して直交する方向の面４ｂ，５ｂとを鈍角Ａ１，Ａ２で結ぶ直線状の傾斜部１０としても良い。また、この鈍角Ａ１，Ａ２の角度は怪我をしにくくする効果があり、かつ外観を損なわないような角度である１２０度〜１５０度が好ましい。また角部７は丸みや傾斜を持たせた形状であるため、外観を損なうことがない。
また、口金３の内面に口金の回転防止用の突起を設けていない場合においても同様の効果を得ることができる。
なお、上記実施形態では環形の蛍光ランプについて説明したが、丸形や四角状の環形蛍光ランプ等、口金に回転裕度を持たせている蛍光ランプにおいて用いることができる。
これにより、口金が所定角度以上、回転することによって口金の角部が浮かび上がっても、浮かび上がった箇所で指等を傷つけることのない安全性を高めた環形蛍光ランプを提供することができる。

Claims (1)

  1. 両端部に跨って設けられた口金を有する環形蛍光ランプにおいて、前記口金は電力供給用ピンを有する半円筒状である第一口金部材と、この第一口金部材に嵌合される半円筒状である第二口金部材とからなり、前記第一口金部材および前記第二口金部材の角部が丸み部若しくは傾斜部を有していることを特徴とする環形蛍光ランプ。
