Abstract

992, 335. Carding-engines. DAIWA BOSEKI KABUSHIKI KAISHA. Aug. 1, 1961 [Aug. 9, 1960 (2)], No. 27962/61. Heading D1N. A carding machine as claimed in Specification 901,632 has an air chamber beneath the taker-in formed in part by a casing, a section of the casing immediately beneath the taker-in being adjustable. The adjustable under-casing in the embodiment illustrated is formed by plate members 42, 52 secured together by a butterfly nut. A sliding back plate for the air chamber 7 is provided by a vertical section of the plate 52 from which depends a flexible sheet 53 of rubber or synthetic resin. The space between the taker-in and the upper arcuate portion of the plate 52 may be adjusted by operation of a bell-crank lever 55. In an alternative form (Fig. 1, not shown), a fixed plate is used instead of the vertical section of plate 52. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 901, 632.
