835,398 Combing machines. SOC. ALSACIENNE DE CONSTRUCTIONS MECANIQUES. Sept. 29, 1958 [Oct. 4, 1957], No. 31065/58. Class 120(1) A cleaning device for the top comb of a rectilinear combing machine has two blades 8, 12 to scrape the comb teeth, one blade 8 being mounted on the feed plate 3 for movement relative to the comb 1 and the other blade 12 being caused to move under the influence of another part of the machine, which is preferably the upper nipper arm 7 that carries a stop 17 to bear against the blade 12 when the nipper arm 7 is lowered. A spring 16 urges the blade 12 against the comb 1. The scraping edges of the blades 8, 12 are provided with strips of leather or plastic 11, 15. Instead of the stop 17, an adjustable arm carrying a roller to bear against the comb 12 may be used.
