Abstract

1,138,220. Cleaning carding machines. ATMOSPHERIC CONTROL Ltd. 11 Oct., 1967 [7 Nov., 1966], No. 49769/66. Heading D1F. A carding machine has a first set of ducting arranged over and across the machine at spaced points - for example in the vicinity of the taker-in, the stripping brush and comb of the flats, the doffer, the scraper knife, and the coiler-, a second set arranged beneath the machine, a filter box, a suction source, and damper means operable to switch the suction force from one set of ducting to the other. The damper means comprise a pivotally mounted plate operable manually, or by electrical, mechanical, pneumatic or hydraulic mechanism which may be controlled by a timing device or by a moving part of the machine.
