[Also in Division B3] A mandrel support bearing for tube rolling mills has a combination of radial and thrust roller bearings in a movable housing and has a holder which may directly receive large size mandrels or may receive a housing which is similar to the movable housing, in that it contains bearings and a holder for small size mandrels. In an embodiment, a large mandrel 9, Fig. 1, having a ball-end 8, is held in a holder 6, having seatings 7, 10 and a cover 11 and is retained by studs 13. The holder 6 is mounted at one end of a spindle 2 which is supported radially and axially by roller bearings in a movable housing 1. In another embodiment, a small mandrel 14, Fig. 2, having a ball-end 22 is held in a holder 20 which is mounted at one end of a spindle 19 supported by roller bearings in a housing 15. The latter is mounted in the holder 6 and is retained by members 25, each of which has a tubular end in screw-threaded engagement with the studs 13 and a screw-threaded end having a nut 26 thereon.
