988,887. Bearings &c. EASTMAN KODAK CO. May 1, 1962 [May 1, 1961], No. 16659/62. Heading F2A. [Also in Divisions B6, G1 and G2] A cylindrical shell 11<SP>1</SP> is rotatably supported near each end on a sleeve 23 secured to a fixed core 24, by means of a metal bearing liner 22 fixed to the shell 11<SP>1</SP> and a ring 29 of porous material fixed to the sleeve 23, the ring 29 enclosing a circumferential groove 28 in the sleeve 23 to which air under pressure is supplied from a bore 33 in the core 24. The air passes through the ring 29 to form an air cushion between the parts 22, 29.
