Abstract

918,439. Primers. RHEINMETALL G.m.b.H. April 25, 1961 [April 27, 1960], No. 14982/61. Class 9 (1). A primer comprises a bore 6 having an annular groove 13 and a percussion cap 7. When the cap is detonated by a striker in known manner its wall is deformed and enters the groove 13 thereby forming a seal to gases from primer composition 8 and primer charge 4. Gases from the primer composition 8 ignite the charge 4 by passing through orifices 10 in an anvil 9 and thence through bore 12.
