1381217 Firing devices MINE SAFETY APPLIANCES CO 4 July 1973 [10 July 1972] 31955/73 Heading F3A [Also in Division H1] A firing device for a primer 1 mounted on a thermal battery 2 or an explosive charge comprises a spring 14 and a pivoted hammer 12 which, by leftward movement of a spacing member 15, is cocked and is then released to strike the primer as the member 15 enters a recess or opening 20 in the hammer. The member 15 is moved by a lanyard 17 or a rod.
