Abstract

816,557. Setting needles for textile combs. LUCKE, K. July 29, 1957 [July 30, 1956], No. 2394/57. Class 117 [Also in Group XXX] Needles (Fig. 1) are discharged one by one from vibrated container 3 past slide 9 and fall down channel 7 into chamber 12 (Fig. 3) whence they are lifted by reciprocating blade 14 so that they roll down surface 20 into slot 24 of oscillating roller 25 which raises them. They thus pass pins 21, 22 which deflect them to fall point-forwards down duct 29 and on to needle strip 37, where they are received in holes point-downwards, the reciprocating pusher 40 advancing said strip stepby-step. Reciprocating slide 32 effects both the movement of blade 14 and of roller 25, the slide carrying the said blade 14 and also carrying a rack which, through a pinion, rotates the roller. Fig. 8. Container 3 is channel-shaped, slide 9 being adjusted by screw 10. Figs. 15, 16. Alternatively the needles from said channel 7 are raised successively by slides 56, 50 and fall upon edge 49 to be turned to point-upwards position, and slide further to strike stop 53 to then fall in the said point-forwards position.
