Abstract

A septic tank 9 having an inlet 19 and outlet 21 has a vertical partition 17 stopping short of the tank top. The tank is built in situ from a base plate 10, superposed rectangular rings 14A . . . . D, partition slabs 18A and cover 12. Upper partition apertures 20 are provided. The outlet 21 leads to a filter tank 26 (also built from a base plate and superposed rings) where liquid runs from channel 29, through apertures 30 on to perforated asbestos sheets 31 and thence into tank 26. Tank outlet 33 has a sampling chamber 38 with access tube 41. Holes 32 are for vent pipes. The septic tank inlet 19 has an inspection chamber 23. <IMAGE>
