Abstract

Aeration apparatus, particularly for sewage sludge comprises a channel (12, 112) in the form of a closed loop and at least one zone in said channel where any air diffusing means (16, 116) are located, and there being baffle means (17, 115) to direct the current established by the air diffusing means, when operative, to cause circulation of the liquid around the ditch. The baffle means may be in the form of plates disposed in vertical planes or plates extending across the width of the channel and which are upwardly inclined in the direction of liquid flow. <IMAGE>
