Abstract

An electrical switch comprises an insulating housing 2 containing a fixed contact 35 and a moveable contact member 31, and a terminal members 12,46,47 electrically connected thereto. In order to be able to connect the moveable contact member 31 to a respective terminal member 12, the moveable contact member 5 is in the form of a two- armed lever, one arm 30,31 of which cooperates with the fixed contact 35 and the other arm 8,10 of which maintains permanent sliding contact with the respective terminal member 11,12. The switch finds particular application as a low-voltage isolating switch, for use, for example, in underground mining. <IMAGE>
