Abstract

1422153 Spark gaps CARR FASTENER Co Ltd 5 Feb 1973 [4 Feb 1972] 5322/72 Heading H1X [Also in Division H2] A coupling accepts the plug contacts of a TV tube against circumferentially arranged resilient strip contacts 11 in an insulating housing 10, fitted with wiring terminals 22 and projections 21 into chambers in housing 10 to form protective spark gaps against a circumferential inward rib 32 on spring-on split tubular electrode 29. One high-voltage contact 12 has a projection 26 of different design to provide a larger gap to a part of electrode 29 without rib. In a second embodiment (Figs. 6, 7, 8, not shown) the resilient strip contacts are replaced by resilient tubular sockets mating with the TV tube plug contacts. The tubular electrode may lie inside the ring of contacts.
