Abstract

1483799 Composite closure cap with tamperindicating strip ANCHOR HOCKING CORP 29 Aug 1974 [14 Sept 1973] 37805/74 Heading B8T A composite closure cap 1 for threaded containers includes a tamper-indicating strip 12 which is formed with a plurality of resilient radially inwardly projecting pawls 17 on its internal surface for engagement of lugs 19 formed on the container 20. The pawls 17 prevent destruction of the vacuum seal without first tearing the tamper-indicating strip 12. The closure cap 1 consists of a metal disc 2 having a downwardly facing channel 5 and an inwardly curled edge 6 for receiving a plastisol or other gasket 7, and a plastics ring 8. The plastics ring 8 consists of an annular cover portion 10 and a depending skirt portion 13 and has an annular groove 11 for receiving said curled edge 6 and container engaging threads 9. A tamper indicating tear-off band 12 is moulded as an integral lower portion of the cap skirt 13.
