1461121 Colour television tubes PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES 29 Jan 1974 [19 Feb 1973] 03990/74 Heading HID To reduce raster distortion in a colour cathode ray tube having three electron beams in a plane, and two orthogonal pairs of flared saddleshaped deflection coils 13 and 15 surrounded by a flared ferromagnetic ring 17, the ring has a depression 31 formed at its larger diameter end in each of its quarters defined by the two deflection planes 27 and 29. The depressions may be filled with non-ferromagnetic material, e.g. epoxy resin.
