Abstract

1335508 Colour television tubes TOKYO SHIBAURA ELECTRIC CO Ltd 15 May 1972 [18 May 1971] 22747/72 Heading H1D A shadow mask colour C.R.T. comprises three electron guns 17R, 17G, 17B arranged in the same plane, a convergence device 18, a deflection device 21 and beam control means 22 to shield the beams from the outer guns from a horizontal deflection field and the beam from the centre gun from a vertical field thereby reducing the relative horizontal deflection angles of the side beams and the relative vertical deflection angle of the centre beam. This results in equal horizontal displacement of side rasters and permits balanced current in the convergence device. The deflection device 21 produces a horizontal "pin cushion" field and a vertical "barrel" field. The convergence device 18 comprises a magnet and coil assembly 19, 20. The beam control means 22 includes pairs of U- and V-shaped members 23, 24 of material with high magnetic permeability.
