Abstract

1329667 Electric incandescent lamps WAGNER ELECTRIC CORP 8 Oct 1971 [12 Oct 1970] 46941/71 Heading H1F An indicator lamp has an envelope 12 with an uncoloured portion 14 and a coloured portion 16, and two filaments 18, 20 are supported within the envelope by members 22, 24, 26, 28 opposite respective envelope portions, and the support members extend through the envelope to be connected to first and second terminals 48, 50, which are mechanically connected to the lamp envelope, through a polarity-responsive circuit such that the direction of current flow determines which one filament is energized. This circuit comprises a pair of diodes 44, 46 connected between terminals 48, 50 and the leads 36, 38, 40, 42 extending through the envelope, in the manner shown in Fig. 2. The terminals 48, 50 wrap around the lamp envelope to engage it and an insulating cement (54), Fig. 4 (not shown), spaces the terminal portions 48d and 50d and supports the common diode/ filament junction.
