Abstract
1,191,247. Quartz-halogen lamp. SYLVANIA ELECTRIC PRODUCTS Inc. 24 Oct., 1968 [31 Oct., 1967], No. 50570/68. Heading H1F. A lamp has a quartz envelope 1 with two lead-ins 4 and 5 sealed in the pinch 2 of the envelope and passing through a quartz bridge 16. A coiled-coil filament 12 of tungsten is held under tension by locating the coils 10 and 14 in the respective end of the connector 6 and the lead-in 5. The filament is additionally supported by a tungsten wire 15. The coils 10 and 14 are crimped on to their mountings. Connector 6 is made of refractory metal and its upper end crimped to lead-in 4 and located in the tip-off 3.
